The renovation calls for removal of the asbestos - containing ceiling texture and asbestos - containing floor tiles which are present throughout the units. Prestige Environmental, Inc. will set up a negative pressure enclosure in which all asbestos removal activities will take place. Six mil polyethylene critical barriers will be put on all openings such as windows and doors. Six mil polyethylene sheeting shall then be applied to the walls and the floors. There is no common HVAC system in the units, although all unit heaters and other fixed objects will be sealed off with 6 -mil poly. The integrity of the enclosure will be continuously verified by a m nometric reading > .02" of pressure differential. A permanent paper read -out will be available for the duration of the project. The negative air machines (HAMS) will run until clearance air samples have been run and are below the.M.A.A.L.'of .01 f /cc. A portable decontamination unit will by set up in the entry area. In lieu of a waste Load -out area, a Holding Area will be utilized within the unit. At the conclusion of the project the -mil bags will be doubled, thoroughly wet -wiped and hand carried to the trailer (lin d with 6 -mil poly) which will be transported to an EPA approved landfill n Donver (DADS)4who will accept and sign the manifest. During the course of the work, amended water will a used and removed materials will be promptly bagged. Material will never be illowed to accumulate and dry out on the floors. Vacuums equipped with HEPA filt krs or wet -wip s shall be used for all cleaning operations. At the conclusion of the project, Adams Environmental Archite ur , P.C. will perform a thorough visual inspection of the entire premises to the k for dust, debris and other residue. If conditions are found to be accept ble AEAPC will run a set of PCM clearance samples, using aggressive methods. I laboratory analysis readings < .01 f /cc, the area will be declared safe for occupancy, and the Contractor will be instructed to tear down the enclosure.
