In addition we az°e also submitting exhibits for your review for changes to the documents that were not a part of the Conditions of Approval . The �rst change is a conversion of the wood stud framing to metal stud framing at all areas except far a portion of the roof above the existing lobby where we must attach to existing wood stud framing . We also discovered a potential problem at the upper most level of the garage where we believe an additional exit was required, and we added this exit. The conversion of the project from wood stLid fi�aming to metal stud fi-aming provides benefit to the schedule and budget of the project but more importantly changes the new construction to non- combustible framing . Attached are the affected wall, floor-ceiling and roof-ceiling assemblies with the proper UL assembly and IBC 2003 prescriptive assemblies referenced for 1HR construction . Due to the existing building construction, Manor Vail will still be considered at Type V-A 1HR const�-uction, but we believe the reduction in combustible materials on the project to be improvement on the original submitted design froin a fire-resistive standpoint. U�pon review of oui° documents we believe that the garage �ntrance ramp created a dead-end col�ridor situation . To rernedy this potential conflict, we created an additional stairway to exit the garage from this end . �I'he attachecl revised code sheets A0 . 04 , A0 . 05 and stair section indicate this z°evision . The st� ir is within a 2HR enclosure to separate froiri the garage, and discharges directly to the public way re�resented by the Ford Parlc Pat11. These issues do not justify further plan review but will have to be addressed for the field inspector. This letter will be attached to the plans as part of the approved documents. The number in the ( ) indicates the number on the original correction letter. 1 A0.16/A1.52—(23) The closet in the family room within unit 327 will not be constructed to hang clothes or the family room will be considered a bedroom and the exiting will have to be reworked. Unit will be built per plans 2 A0.18/A1.64 — (23) Unit 368 has been re-configured on sheet A1.64 so exiting is not through a bedroom. The code sheet A0.18 has not been reconfigured. Unit 386 will be required to be constructed as shown on A1.64. Unit will be built from the unit plans. 3 A0.05/A1.37 — (31) Doors D105B and D106 will require to be 20 minute rated as they are communicating to a rated corridor. See attached sheets ASI-029.01 and ASI-029.02 to update rating as indicated above. 4 A0.05/A1.37 — (31) Door D001-C will require being 90 minute rated as it accesses a 2 hour vertical exit enclosure. See attached sheets ASI-029.01 and ASI-029.02 to update ratinq as indicated above. 5 A0.07/A1.39 — (32) Door E201 B will require being 20 minute rated as they are communicating to a rated corridor. See attached sheets ASI-029.03 and ASI-029.04 to update rating as indicated above. 6 A0.07/A1.40 — (38) Door F201 B will require being 20 minute rated as they are communicating to a rated corridor. _ See attached sheets ASI-029.05 and ASI-029.06 to update rating as indicated above. 7 A0.12 — (57) Note 29 has been added to the balconies on the south side referencing non-combustible projections at the firewall. This note also applies to the balconies on the north side of the buildings at the firewall. See attached exhibit D.004 from previous �lan check response. 8 Multiple Sheets—The lavatories within the new dwelling units are required to be a maximum 34" above the floor. The specification does not address louvers. Should be a transfer arill above the door not a louvered door, see attached letter and detail M9.1 b from mechanical enqineer. 12 Multiple—The key note indicating fire dampers for the duct penetrations of the 4t" level floor are tagged on one floor register and the key note indicate "typ". All duct penetrations through the 4t" level will require fire dampers. Kev note applies to all duct penetrations in the floor, see attached letter from mechanical enqineer. 13 The existing firewall between building A and B will require inspection to verify continuity and analysis from the structural engineer to verify structural independence after demo and wall is exposed. A report will be issued when this area is uncovered durinq construction. 14 The administrative modifications presented in this request have to be signed by the Chief Building Official and the Fire Marshal of Vail prior to issuing the full permit. • Allowance of Gore Creek to be a public way for fire separation distance and exterior exit discharge location only. • To allow bedrooms to be part of the egress system within the residential units for the second exit only by use of electronic strike release. We need to qet final si nq ed copies of these AMR's from the town with their stamp�on them.
