Yes, you have provided the best option. The firepleace must remain out of service until the permit is
obtained which would then allow us to inspect the installation.
We will then proceed with the final electrical inspection and give a partial final/TCO inspection for the
building permit.

After doing some research, my understanding is the gas insert was an after
thought from the client and is permitted separately. My understanding is the
gas was existing but a insert was done and put in.
So what are our options? Can we leave the fireplace inoperable with the gas
off, key removed until the permit goes through and you have time to inspect
it? Would making the fireplace inoperable then allow us to get the
electrical final, and your inspection of the rest of the unit? Then
allowing occupancy for the 22nd?
With the influx of request for permits where is the permit in terms of
getting approval, bottom of the pile or top?
