The numbered items below relate to the "Structural Commenf'numbers from the review: 6. We do not have a copy of the original soils report. Our foundation design was based on information we received regarding the original construction of the residence in 1976. 7. When we originally checked these two footings for the new loads imposed on them, we evaluated the existing roof framing that is not part of the new addition based on current code requirements for roof snow loads. This resulted in the requirement for 4000 psf soil bearing at these two locations. We have subsequently evaluated the loads from the existing roof framing using the snow load that it was originally designed for. We then added the new loads from the addition at the current code requirements. This combination of loading results in these footings being within the acceptable bearing pressure without enlarging them. lf the Town of Vail will accept this method of analysis, then no further work is required at these locations. 8. The design live load for the deck (100 psf) has been added to sheet 51. See attached I 1/2xl 1's. 9, The live load used for roof slopes less than 4i12 (100 psfl has been added to sheet S1.
