Thank you for your help in July with the DRB changes to the Pierce remodel, At the time we submitted the plans
to you, we had not yet received the approval letter from the Homeowner's association. We now have that letter
in hand and I'll e-mail it off to you after I send this (I don't know how to merge 2 e-mails as one).
The letter from the Homeowner's association does not yet approve our landscaping plan. When we get the
landscaping letter I'll forward that to you.
When I met with you in July, we needed to order the windows. The other changes to plan we agreed would
become effective when we provided you the Homeowner's Board letter. It is my understanding that my delivery
of this letter will complete our approval.
I have 2 other items in regard to the Pierce remodel I'd like to address with this e-mail.
Item #2 is our driveway. The Pierce driveway before the remodel started was approximately 30'wide at the
curb cut, as shown in the survey we submitted. We received DRB approval for plans showing the same 30'
width for the remodeled project. The Town of Vail Development Standards Handbook page 11 (and probably in
the zoning code) says for the Maximum width for a curb cut for a single farnily, two family/ or P/S driveway is
24' head in, 48' back out. I talked to you last week. You said we we would be counted as a repair and allowed
keep the 30' width. I would appreciate your written confirmation of this.
Item #3 is also driveway related. The contractor would like the option to do an exposed aggregate finish instead
of a "broom finish". He would also like the option to add a slight color tinting to the concrete.
I appreciate your prompt attention to the driveway issues, as we anticipate pouring tomorrow or Saturday.

patticipated in a portion of our meefing by telephone.
We understand that you need a lett€r of consent from the Association related to those
exierior clranges which the Board has approved for subqdssion to the Town of Vail, in
ondo to enable the p$oject to proceed on the revised basis.
This letter will certify that the Board of Directors has reviewed the revised those
elwation, plan and survey drawings as submitted to the Association on July 23, 2008 and
that it has approved the extsior alterations to the building plans iodicated onthose
drawings (includiag the rwised windows, doot$, mullions, modified deck footprints, and
graile plan), with the exception of the landscape plan.
The Landscape Plan is to be finalized with the participation of Mr. Aasland and Board
rqrrosentdive Dianne Shearer as soon as pracficable for both parties, and a follow-up
letter will be provided by the Association to the Town of Vail at that time.

Our proposed project is in the Casolar tr subdivision. As per my discussions with yoq
' one of the governing criteria for evaluation is that Casolar II is viewed as a whole. The
historic paperwork at the town for the subdivision has varying amounts of completion.
Moreover, over the years, town ordinances for the definition of iterns such as GRFA and
Site Coverage have changed dramatically. Another contributing ordinance the town has
passed is the interior conversion ordinance. Our submittal uses information recogrrized
from past town paperwork, as well as new inforirnation wp have prepared. This
information was prepared with a reasonable standard of care.
For GRFA the basis used, that you agreed to, is the "Offcial GRFA Analysis for Casolar
I{. File Copy, Approved by Staff, 6-20-06 WC" (WC meaning Warren Cambell)-

Our application for Parcel 14 is for 4918 S.F. of GRFA 331 S.F. additional. Leaving
789 S.F. available in the subdivision before 250's.
Attached are results of watking the site to observe exterior lights, The lot has 1.235
aqre$ x 43.560 S.F./acrr53,796 S.F. The town allows L o<terior light per 1000 S-F.,
