SPECIAL PROVISIONS. BUILDING CONSTRUCTION SPECIF]CATION
l. Basic Gonsiderations
A. Furnishing a plant-fabricated restroom and foundation/vault, installed in accordance with this and other
sections of these specifications. The structure must meet or exceed these specifications.
B. The contractor/olvner will furnish and install plant fabricated facility, Model #OUTBACK National Value
Engineered Structures by Biological Mediation Systems, lnc., Ft. Collins, CO 80526, 1-800-524-1097.
C. The building and foundation/vault must be engineered and pre.manufactured, including building structure,
foundation/vault, wiring, and other elements shown on the drawings. Building supplier must be certified to
build prefabricated buildings in the State in Colorado.
ll. Site Preparation, Excavation and Fill
A. Initial site preparation will be under the direction of the goveming agency (owner), i.e., removal of existing
lawns, shrubs, or dirt in the area of the building.
B. All materials and design of walkways, ramps, and railings will be provided by owner.
C. The crane for off loading and setting the structure onsite will be the responsibility of BMSI . lf truck and
crane access is not available the owner will be responsible for setting the building.
!ll- Utility Hook-Ups
A. The main electrical supply, connection, meter and disconnect will be the responsibility of the owner.
lV. Anchoring of the Restroom
A Anchoring the restroom to the foundation shall be per manufacturers drawings and specification. This shall
be the responsibility of the BMSI.
V. Building Material / Construction Specification
A. The structure shall be National Value Engineered Structures Model #OUTBACK Biological Mediation
Systems, Inc.
B. The structure shall consist of two factory constructed units. The foundation/vault module shall contain the
WRS, vault evaporation system, factory installed including a 30 mil PVC liner. All necessary connections
between the building and foundation/vault will be the responsibility of the owner. The restroom module shall
be factory constructed complete with trusses, decking and roofing materials.
C. The structure shall be designed under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer licensed in the
State of Colorado and all plans shall bear his seal.
Vl. Floor System and Foundation/Vault
A- Restroom floor The floor shall be a one piece structural monolithic precast concrete slab manufactured
in a closed environmenblly controlled plant. Concrete to develop 4,000 psi in 28 days. The floor slab shall

concrete with a 4" steel angle around the entire perimeter of the slab, the floor finish shall have a non-skid
broom finish. After the slab is cured it will be sealed with a two part epory coating. The structural rebar and
waf f anchor bolts shall be welded to the perimeter angle, the minimum rebar size shallbe#4 at1/' on center.
The anchor bolts will be embedded in a minimum 4" of concrete, the walls will be installed directly on concrete.
lnstallation of walls on ferrous (steel) surfaces will not be permitted. Floor drains will be precast into the slab.
B. Foundation shall be manufactured in a closed environmentally controlled plant. Construction shall be 6"
thick concrete floor with 4' concrete walls- Concrete to develop 4,000 psi in 28 days. The floor slab shall be

C. Bidders must have minimum 3 years experience in building these floor systems. The floor system shall
be build by a precast company that is cunently certified by the National Precast Concrete Association.

conlinuous laminaling process in lengths as required.
Composilion:
1. Reinforcement random chopped fiberglass roving.
2. Resin mix: Modified polyester copolymer and inorganic fillers
and pigments.
Finished panel quality:
1 . Panels shall have a wear side whh a pebble like embossed
finish. Color shall be uniiorm throughout, as specified. Other
colors can be manufactured. The back side shall be smooth.
Back side imperfections which do not affect functional
properties are not cause for relection.
2. Physical properties shail be as set forth in Table 1.
3. Product quality standards and tolerances for panel
weight and thickness shall be set forth in Kemlite's ' - \
Quality Control Procedures/Standards which are available )

4. Dimensions shall be as specified on purchase order,
subiect to the following tolerances:
Width: t1l8" (3.2 mm)
Length: t'l18'(3.2 mm) up to 12'(3.7 m)

FABRICATING RECOMMENDATIONS:

and moulh with a filter mask when cutting Glasbord panels.
Hand fabricatino: Drillinq-hiqh sDeed drill bit (60' cuttinq
angie, with-1 2' - 15' cleirarice) or hole siw.
Slaplrng.' Standard pneumatic stapler.
Cutdng.' Sheet metal shears or circuiar saw with reinlorced
carborundum or carbide-liDoed blade.
Production fabricating: Use cafiide -tipped lools. Straight
cuts can be sheared (9O' cutting edge with .002'(.05 mm)
clearance) or sawed. For irregular cuts, use die punch or
band saw.
STORAGE:
All Kemlite products should be stored indooG. When outside
'- - storage is necessary, cover and protect from the weather
and exposure to suniight.
NOTICE:
Near heal source - Glasbord panel products may discolor when
installed behind or near a heat source which radiates
temperatures exceeding 130" F (55"C) such as cookers, ovens,
and deep fryers.
Panels will provide a clean, aesthetically-pleasing Iinished
installation. However, by nature, fiberglass reinforced plastic
paneling may occasionally have small areas that are
aesthetically unacceptable for use. Panels should be in-
spected on-site prior to installation. lf any portion of material
will not provide an acceptable appearance, Kemlite should
be notified at once. Upon verification of unacceptability, that
portion of material will be replaced by Kemiile. Kemlite's sole
responsibility is lor the replacement of defective material but
not for labor or other handling or installation expenses.

Frames shall be formed from 18, 16, or 14 gage cold+olled steel,

8'0'). Frames shall be either knocked-down or have corners
welded and ground smooth. Comers shall have aiigning tabs and
slots for secure and easy interlocking ofjambs to head.
Fnmes shall be provided wilh 9/32'silencer preparation, (3)
per strike jamb and (2) per head lor double openings for
field application and after finish painting. Frames ior 1314" (44)
doors shall have 9 gage steel universal hinge tap plale proiection
welded with provisions lor 4112" (114) x 4 112' (114lltemplate
type hinges and 14 gage steel strike reinforcement plate,
extruded and {ormed to the equivalent of '10 gage projection
welded with provision for UniversalANSlAll5.l or ANSI A115.2
strike. Frames for 1 3/8" (35) doors shall have 11 gage steel
hinge reinforcement plates projection welded wi'th provisions for
3 1/2' (89) x 3 12' (89) template type hinges and 14 gage steel
strike reinforcement plate projection welded with provision for
rylinddcal ANSI 41 1 5.3 strike.
Reinforcement for surface.closer shall be 12 gage steel.
Proper reinforcement shall be provided for other hardware
when required.
