How it relates to Building Permits:
1) Fill out our check list provided with a buildino oermit application.
lf yes was answered to any of the above questions. then a "Public Way' is
required. You can pick up an applictrtion at either Community Development,
located at75 S. Frontage Road or PublicWorks, located at 1309 VailValley Drive.
2l Notice sign offs for utility companies. All utilities must field verify (locate)
respective utilities prior to signing application. Some utility companies require up
to a 48 hour notice to schedule a locatg.
3) A construction traffic controUstaging plan must be prepared on a separate sheet
of paper.An approved site plan may also be used. This phn will show locations
of all traffic control devices(signs, cones, etc..) and the work zone, (area of
construction, staging, etc..). This plan will expire on oct. 1Sth. and will need to
be resubmitted for approvalthrough the winter.
4) Sketch of work being performed must be submitted indicating dimensions (length,
width & depth of work). This may be drawn on the traffic control plan or a iite
plan for the job.
5) Submit completed application to the Public Works's office for review. lf required,
locates will be scheduled for the Town oJ Vail Electricians and lrrigation crew. The
locates take place in the morning but, may require up to 4g hours to perform.
6) The Public Work's Construction Inspector will review the application and approve
or disapprove the permit. You will be contacted as to the status and any that may
needed. Most permits are released within 48 hours of being received, but pleasi
allow up to one week to process.
7') As soon as the permit is processed, a copy will be faxed to community
Development allowing the "Building Permit" to be released. Please do not confusir
the "Public Way Permit" with a "Building Permit" to do work on a project itself.
NOTE:

Dear Kristan:
The purpose of this letter is to request that the Town of Vail
expgdite,the issuance of a Final Certificate of Occupancy for the new
Children's Center, which was constructed at Golden peak in 1988.
l,ly assistant,_Audrey Roman, called your office recently to requestthat the Final Certificate of 0ccupancy be issued and that our clean-
up deposit in the amount of $750.00 be refunded. She was informedthat tre would have to wait until next spring to facilitate landscape
i nspecti on .
Our records indicate that a temporary Certificate of 0ccupancy was
issued on December 21, 19B8 by l,lr. Joe Norris of the bullding
departunnt. The completion of landscape improvements was th6 only
significant condition listed on the temporary certificate of 0ccupancy
document.
Landscaping improvements were completed in accordance with the
landscape design, which was approved by the Design Review Board,
during l4ay and June of 1989. A 'letter was sent to Rick Pylman on July7, 1989, requesting that a Final Certificate of Occupancy- inspection -
be conducted.
l{e are concerned that the absence of a Final Certificate of Occupancy
may complicate the annual renewal of our state day care licensingprocedures. It is our understanding that a Temporary Certificate of
Occupancy-typicq!!f expires after 6-months. ConsequLntly, the absenceof a final Certificate of 0ccupancy represents a liability to VailAssociates, Inc.

I am writing to clarify the process by which the green chain'link
fence at Cold pealc Nurlery Center ltas approved. fnitially.a
=pfit iail wood fence was proposed and lpprovea by the Design
nlview Board on 3/IS/BB. the vinyl coated chain link fence
currently on the iite was never approved by. the-Design Review.
Board. Hohrever, the fence was apir-roved by the Fire Department in
accordance with Coloradors Child Care Licensing reguirernents' In
this instance, the staff feels that the chain link fence Idas
warranted because of the state laws involved with the use of the
site.
please be aware that in the future this type of fence will not be
allowed under any condition. We feel thal- an alternative fencing
material could hive been used to fulfill the state requirements'
