In May 2007,the ICC adopted the ventilation rate procedure from ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004 into the IMC. This change provides opportunities for energy savings in freating outside air. The new requirements are included in the 2007 IMC Supplement. It is our understanding that in the future the Town of Vail will adopt this change, For the application at hand we have decided that current trends in efficient green building programs and the designed improvement of this existing ventilation systern warrant the use of the design criteria summarized below. Design Requirements: o 0.75 CFlWs.f. minimum automatic ventilation rate Reference: ASHRAE 62.1-2004 (Table 6-4) and 2007-MC Supplement attached o 0.05 CFlWs.f. minimum constant ventilation rate Reference: IMC-2003 section 404.2 Minimum Ventilation o OSHA pennissible exposure limit (PEL) o 50 ppm parts of air in an 8-hour time-weighted average concentration Desien Specifications: o 12,254 s.f. of Garage Floor Space o 9,190 CFM automatic ventilation exhaust o 615 CFM constant ventilation exhaust o 5.3 ACH (or approx.
