CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT -

DATE: SEPTEMBER 3, 7974
At thejr meeting on August 29, 1974, the Planning Commission
considered a request for a Condit'i onal Use Permit by Vail
Associates, Inc., in order to construct a ski lift in an agri -
cultural zone. Said lift is to be'located in the Golden Peak
area currently being used for the poma 'l ift and mighty-mite.
The lifthouse building wjll be approximately 12f x 24',13' high.
The design of the 'lifthouse building is scheduled for design
approva'l on Thursday, Septernber 5, 1974;
The Chairman revjewed the criteria and findjngs of the zoning
ordinance; the Zoning Administrator acvised that an environmental
impact report is not necessary. The Commission then found, in
accordance with Section 18,600 of the zon'ing ordinancei
(1) That the proposed locatjon of the use is in accord with the
purposes of this ordinance and the purposes of the district
in which the si te 'is located,
(2) That the proposed location of the use and the conditions Inder
which it would be operated or maintained will not be detrimental
to the public hea'l th, safety, or we'lfare, or materially'injurious to properties or improvements in the vicinity.
(3) That the proposed use will comoly with each of the applicable
provisions of this ordinance.
Based on the above find'ings, the Commission voted unanimously (Han'lon
absent; l,lright abstaining) to approve the request for a conditional
use permit and to recommend the same action to Town Council.
