Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining temporary services such as power, light, heat, enclosures, water, sanitary facilities, erosion and sediment control, temporary construction fencing, tree and plant protection, and trash removal adequate to meet requiremenLs of local jurisdictions, maintain safety of the site, and maintain quality, for the duration of construction. F. Quality ControL• 1 . Contractor shall maintain Quality control over supplies, manufacturers, products, services, site conditions and workmanship to produce the qualiiy level specified in all pses. 2. Ali products shall be installed stricUy per manufacturer's recommendations and/or standard Vade council guidelines. 3. Commencement of work over previous work indicates ihat installer has reviewed the previous work and agrees it is acceptable as a substrate for his work. 4. B. General Requirements: 1 . All requirements of the "General Conditions of the Contract for Construction", A.I.A. Document A201-1987 apply to this section. 2. The Design-Buiid Contractor shall be hired by and be under the direction of the General Contractoc The General Conhactor shall have ultimate responsibility for coordination of all portions of the work; especially between various Design-Build Contractors, and between Design-Build Contractors and all other contractors. 3. The Architect and his consultants shall review submittals in a Gmety manner to help avoid such delays. C. Quality Assurance: 1 . All work shall be designed and executed in accordance with the current edition of the Uniform Building Code (tJBC) and all other applicable state, local, and/or public utility codes and regulaGOns. 2. The design, methods of construction and materials of the electrical system shall be in accordance with the curzent edition of the following applicable regulations, 2ferences and standards a) National Electrical Code (NEC) b) American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) c) Factory Mutual Laboratories (FM) d) American Sociely of Heating, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) e) National Electrical Manufacturers' Association (NEMA) � National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) g) Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) h) American National Standards Institute (ANSI) 3. The design and performance characteristics shall conform to all professional standards and practices as eshablished by the curcent edidons of the follnwing references and standards: a) Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. 4. The D.B.C. shail be a contractor, licensed in the jurisdiction where the project is bcated to pertorm the portions of the work he intends to complete. 5. The D.B.C. shall guarantee all materlals, workmanship and the successful operatlon of all equipment and apparatus installed for a period of one (1 ) year from the date of the final acceptance of the entire work. The D.B.C. shall repair or replace any part of the system whtch may show defect during that time. D. Design-Build Process Outline; 7 . The D.B.C. shall survey the proJect and discuss with the Owner, Architect, General Contractor and all applicable subcontrac[ors the function and control of the system with regard to the building program. The D.B.C. shall develop and present to the Owner, Architect, and General Contractor, the design parameters along with the first cost, energy costs and applicable altematives. The D.B.C. shall revise the design parameters until accepfable to the Owner and shall receive mitten appmval of the final design parameters prior to proceeding with design and documentation. 2. The D.B.C. shall design the systems to achieve the approved design parameters. During the desgn phase the D.B.C. shall coordinate with all design professionals whose work interfaces with the electrical systems in order to produce a complete and functioning system appropriate for the use and design inte�t of the project. 3. The D.B.C. shall develop consVuction documents inGuding drawings, specifications and equipment su6mittals relating to the eledricai work. These drawings shall define the scope of work and level of performance with respect to design parameters as well as construdion procedure and responsibility. The D.B.C. shall retain a Professional Engineer (P.E.) to review the construction documents and produce a peer review report staGng that in the P.E:s opinion the design parameters will be met 6y the system as designed. This peer review report shall bear the license stamp of the P.E. The D.B.C. shall then submit these construction documents, with copies of the approved design parameters and peer review, for the General Contractor's review and comment. 4. Upon review the General Contractor shall fonvard the construction document submittal to the Architect. The Architect will forward the consVuction document submiltai to the P.E. retained by the Architect for concurrent review and comment. The Architect shall review the construction document submi4al for coordination of work rela6ng to architectural constraints and intent only. The Architect shall retum the reviewed documents with the P.E.'s and ArchitecPS comments, to the General ConVactor for forwarding to the D.B.C. The D.B.C. shall not start construction prior to receiving and responding to reviewed drawings. 5. The P.E. retained by the �.B.C. shall also be retained to inspect the electrical systems and prepare a written review at the rough-in stage and again at final completion. Trie D.B.C. shall forward a copy of these written reviews through the General Contractor to the Architect. The D.B.C. shall perform any and all atlditions and modifications required by the reports. Upon final completion, the D.B.C. shall certify in wriGng fhat all electrical systems are instalied per code, contract documents, and industry standards. 6. Prior to receiving final payment, the D.B.C. shall provide the Owner with the Project Close-out Documents, a written copy of the one-year warranty and a final walk-through to expiain operation and maintenance of the system to the Owners satisfaction. E. Submittals 1 . The construction document submittai shall include five (5) copies of electrical design documents including drawings, specifications, materiai and equipment product data and any other infortnation necessary to thoroughly define the system and demonstrate ihat ihe system will meet the design parameters. This submittal shall also contain the approved design parameters. This submittal shall also confain the approved design parameters and the stamped peer review report. 2. The Project Close-out documents shall contain: a) All Manufacturers' product data, listing model numbers and specific information for each piece of equipment in the electrical system. b) Complete detailed instructions covering operation, lubrication, general maintenance and the repair of all equipment for Uie electrical systems. The above information shall be typewritten and bound in a loose-leaf binder for the Owner's use. Two (2) copies shall be submitted. 3. As-8uilt Drawings: Provide one (1 ) set of complete As-Built Drawings. Drawings shall be submitted on reproducibl0 mylar. Drawings shall accurately show the elecVical systems as oonstructed, complete in all respects. F.
