General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving minor changes to buildings and site im-
provements, such as roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retaining walls, etc. Applicable Vail
Town Code sections can be found at www.vailaov.com under Vail Information - Town Code Online. All projects re-
quiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. An application for Design
Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department, as
outlined in the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be review tan-
ning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one yea e t _ f ss a
building permit is issued and construction commences.

RE: Extend a roof overhang, Unit 2, Summers Lodge
Dear Jennifer:
Accompanying is an Application for Design Review, Minor Exterior Alteration for Unit
2, Summer Lodge, 123 Willow Place, Vail, CO. The request is to extend the roof
overhang approximately 2' 6" to cover the existing deck on Unit 2. Currently the snow
and ice builds up on the deck during the winter causing a safety issue for the applicants.
By extending the roof and providing a new gutter with heat tape the problem will be
ameliorated. There is no impact to adjacent unit owners or the unit below.
All materials as shown in the plans of 8/24/09 will match the existing materials and
colors on site. The proposed roof overhang is not visible from the street due to the large
pine tree directly off this deck.
The Application for Design Review has been completed and a $250.00 check is attached
with this Application.
