General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving minor changes to buildings an si a im-
provements, such as roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retaining walls, etc. Applicable Vail
Town Code sections can be found at www.vailggv.com under Vail Information - Town Code Online. All projects re-
quiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. An application for Design
Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department, as
outlined in the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by the Town Council and/or the Plan-
ning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a
building permit is issued and construction commences.

Bill and Julie:
I apologize for the delay in getting this to you.
Attached is our estimate for the window replacement. Our estimate includes the following:
1. Building Permit
2. DRB Submittal and Review
3. Supervision and Project Management
4. Trash and General Conditions
5. Protection of finished surfaces
6. Removal and replacement of the stone veneer
7. Re-work of the waterproofing as required at each opening
8. Installation of the sliding doors and windows (estimate provided by Pella)
9. Waxing of the exterior frames to help blend the new window frames with the existing
10. Interior trim removal and re-installation
11. Removal and re-installation of the window coverings
12. Faux Painting
13. Misc. Paint Touch up
14. Window Washing, cleaning, and closeout labor and materials
15. Window material to be provided by Pella
16. Contractor's Fee at 15% of costs
17. Contingency at 5% of costs
18. Contractor's Insurance
We have also included costs for the hours spent to date investigating this issue and working with Pella to resolve the
issue. These costs amount to $1,640.00.
I have provided Craig with MacMillan Claim service an estimate on the value of the faux finishing. Have you heard back
from him on whether or not this will be covered? I also remember a discussion with you regarding the release that Pella
had asked you to sign. Have you reviewed this and are you ok with it?
Please let me know when a good time would be to review this estimate. With your approval, we will place the order for
the replacement windows and build a schedule for completing the work. Talk to you soon.
