General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving the addition of any floor area, including
net floor area and/or gross residential floor area (GRFA). This also includes proposals for `residential 250 additions' and
interior conversions'. Applicable Vail Town Code sections can be found at www.vailoov.com under Vail Information -
Town Code Online. All projects requiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit ap-
plication. An application for Design Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Commu-
nity Development Department, as outlined in the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by
the Town Council and/or the Planning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from
the date of approval, unless a building permit is issued and construction commences.

Lynne,
I have some concern that Benji Amsden, our architect, is going to show up without all of the
required documents. You checked off, on my copy of the Application I submitted last week, the
submittal requirements that would apply to an "interior only" remodel project, such as ours.
Unfortunately, I left that information in Vail and I am now back in Texas. Would you again please
check off the documents that Benji will be expected to submit and fax that to him at
970.871.0077.

Thanks for updating me Friday regarding the architect no show. I learned this morning that his
teenage son developed swine flu and his wife is out of town. It looks like wed. at the earliest before
he can get to Vail.
The good news is that based on our initial meeting with warren a few weeks ago, our project
should easily qualify for staff approval.
Let's stay in touch and hope for the best.

Dear David,
Bonnie and I are in the final stages of applying for a building permit to do some interior remodeling
to our Vail home. We will be adding approximately 300-400 sq. ft., some of which will be livable
space and some storage. The only exterior change will be the addition of 3 windows from which the
primary view will be the exterior crawl space under our common stair well between the two
homes. Also, I will use any excess soil excavated during the project to level and improve the
accessibility and usability of the storage under the stairs. I have reviewed this with Glen Susmilch,
your property manager, and he agrees that the improvement to the exterior storage will be to our
mutual benefit.
I hope to start within the next two weeks or so and finish around Thanksgiving. I will stay in close
contact with Glen regarding your plans to visit Vail and I will be certain to not block your use of our
driveway.
If you are agreeable to the above, please indicate your approval by so stating on behalf of Blue Ox
LLC in your reply to this email. I apologize for having to involve you in this process. Perhaps I can
return the favor in the event you choose to do some remodeling of your own.
It would be helpful if you could get back to me today if possible. Feel free to call me at
