Town of Vail - Design Review Board
Application by the Cascade Village Metropolitan District
For a Minor Exterior Alteration
Description of Minor Exterior Alteration
This application is for the addition of a solar power system to supply electrical power for
the existing lighting system on the Skier Bridge. The Skier Bridge carries the Gore
Valley Trail over Gore Creek in Cascade Village near the base of the Cascade Village
lift. The bridge was recently reconstructed and the plans for it and a conventionally
powered lighting system were approved by the Design Review Board.
This application is for the installation of a self-contained solar power system to be
installed at the wingwall on the northeast comer of the bridge as indicated on the attached
plans.
The system will consist of a solar panel (59" x 26") mounted on a steel pole attached to
the NE wingwall. An aluminum control cabinet (16" x 21" x 15") will be mounted to
the outside face of the wingwall. Lighting will be by Bega Model # 2221, 3 watt LED
recessed wall luminaires with louvers.
