Project Narrative for proposed Lionshead Miniature Golf Course
Vail Resorts is proposing to construct a miniature golf course in Lionshead as an
additional enhancement to our summer guest experience. This attraction would be
constructed on the area referred to as the Lionshead Children's Ski School teaching yard
located to the east of the bottom of Chair 8 and south of the new Lionshead Utility
Building (Restroom Building).
The course would offer a full 18 holes of play, a water feature, low level lighting for
evening use (potentially) and temporary landscaping using Xeriscaping techniques. The
permanently constructed portions of the course would be accomplished in low profile
manner to facilitate snow coverage during winter skiing operations. The course is being
designed and would be installed by Harris Miniature Golf, Inc. who are one of the
premier companies of this type in the country and have installations all over the United
States.
If approved, construction of the miniature golf course would commence as soon as
possible in the spring of 2010 for a scheduled completion before the July 4 1 weekend of
2010. The course would then operate into the late fall on 2010. Future operations would
commence before the Memorial Day weekend and last through the end of September at a
minimum.
We believe this attraction will provide additional excitement and enhanced opportunity
for family enjoyment in the Lionshead area.
Thank you for your consideration.
