General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving mino charT u0 r site id -
provements, such as roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retaining walls, etc. Applicable Vail
Town Code sections can be found at www.vailgov.com under Vail Information — Town Code Online. All projects re-
quiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. An application for Design
Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department, as
outlined in the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by the Town Council and /or the Plan-
ning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a
building permit is issued and construction commences.

Scott,
Per our discussion please provide me a minimum 11 "X17" plan of the existing pool area which is to scale. In addition,
please provide a proposed pool plan of a minimum 11 "X17" size to scale.
If possible on the approved plan and the proposed plan please depict the area of each of the planter areas.
Please provide details on the railing which was discussed as potentially needing to add on top of the stone cap adjacent tot
he hot tubs which are to remain. This can be a picture of an existing railing on the structure you intend to match.
When will the landscaping plan for the revised planters be provided?

RE: Pool Deck Work at Vail Plaza Hotel
The work proposed on the pool deck at the Vail Plaza Hotel would be basic removal of existing materials
in place to prepare for the construction of a new and different pool /hot tub arrangement. The new
arrangement will be identified in detail soon with the Building Permit Application for the pool deck in
question.
After reviewing as built drawings and consulting with Shaw Construction, who provided
attached photos of original construction, it has been determined the only unforeseen items in
the pool deck are the PVC piping feeding the pools themselves. This PVC piping will all be
isolated and shut down immediately after draining of the pool.
Materials being removed will be stockpiled on site as much as possible, if removal of materials
is needed the plan would be to do so thru Vail Plaza Hotel property along the south side of the
structure identified in pink on original site plan page C8 attached.
Landscape planters will reduce in size with +/- 200 S.F. being removed identified in yellow on
same page C8. There will be +/- 50 S.F. of landscape planter being added as shown on the new
drawing behind the pool.
