GENERAL NOTES
Contractor is to visit the site, verify existing conditions, including utility locations,
hookups and stubs, and familiarize himself with all new work. In the event of
discrepancies between the drawings and existing conditions, notify the Architect
before proceeding with the work. All work to be performed in accordance with all
applicable codes and regulations.
The Contractor shall remove from the site and dispose of all demolition
materials, debris and rubbish as soon as practicable. Protect all existing areas
from the new work and repair all damaged work that is to remain. The building
and grounds shall be kept clean at all times.
Interior detailing, finishes, and materials to match existing and/or as selected and
approved by the Owner. These include, but are not limited to casework,
* hardware, tile, carpet, plumbing accessories, lighting fixtures and trim. Provide
blocking as required for proper installation of these items. Sound insulate the
floor system. Mechanical and electrical systems design shall be the responsibility
of the General Contractor,
• The Architect assumes no responsibility for errors, omissions and applicable
code requirements of consultants. The Architect assumes no responsibility for
y
utility coordination, ' n, care of adjacent properties, performance specifications and
the components of construction safety; or for the Contractor's failure to carry out
the work in accordance with the C onstruction Documents.
The investigation of hazardous materials is beyond the scope of these
Architectural Services. The Own6r shall be responsible for all existing hazards

CONSTRUCTION NOTES
Remove existing stairwell. Barnwood to remain on upper level
east, north, and west walls of new study. Carefully remove
barnwood on upper level walls as required to install electrical,

existing door trim as required to fit new wall between the two
existing doors. Reuse existing bedroom door and hardware.
10. Construct closet walls as indicated. ' Reuse existing door from
bathroom and trim to match existing. Construct white melamine
closet system per drawings.
11. Remove existing fixed glass window in stairwell and install new
Eagle Sierra Bronze Clad Casement CMT3040, Right Hand
Vent Layout.
12. Install all new electrical fixtures, outlets, switches, cable, and
phone as indicated on the Electrical Layout drawing.
13. On west deck, add wall mounted light fixture to match existing,
connect to existing deck lamp switch..
14. Chandelier from stairway to be removed to be relocated above
stairway from entry as indicated on the Electrical Layout..
5; Remove all carpet from lower level and replace. Reuse best
part of existing carpet in new upper level study and at entry
stairs if stairway is modified as per item 17 below.
16. Remove existing 2x railing cap from west deck. Install new
copper wrapped cap, slope slightly to drain.
17. Alternate: Remove carpet from concrete stairway and save for
reuse. Fur out stair risers as indicated on the drawing. Face of
