Frontage Road Vail, CO 81657 RE: Angelo Residence at the Vail Mountain Lodge, amendments to the previously approved DRB application (DRB100028.) Dear Bill, At this time we are submitting an amendment to the approved plans for the Angelo Residence, located at 352 E. Meadow Drive, Unit 303 of the Vail Mountain Lodge. The first part of the application includes some minor changes to the windows, as is shown in the submitted plans. The second part of the application includes a modification to the roofing material to be used over the Angelo unit. As you are aware, the Angelo unit is on the south side of the building. When the roof was replaced on the north side of the building, a different tile was used than what was on the south side of the building. The material on the south side of the building is intended to be replaced within the next couple of years to match the north side of the building (see attached letter from Frank Johnson, General Manager of the Vail Mountain Lodge). At this time, we are requesting an amendment to the approval for the Angelo Residence to use the roofing material currently in use on the north side of the building. The material used on the south side is no longer available. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Senior Associate Mauriello Planning Group, LLC April 24, 2010 To Whom It May Concern: Please let this letter serve as an indication that The Vail Mountain Lodge Owners Assn. intends to re -roof the portion of our south roof on the west end of the building in a tile to match that which has been used on the north side of the west end of our building, as well as that which is being proposed by Mosaic Architects and George Schaeffer Construction to be used on the adjacent roof of the unit currently being remodeled. As you are aware, this portion of the roof has suffered many cracked tiles, etc. but since there has been no leakage, we did not budget to replace it in 2010. Our intention is to include this work in our capital budget for 2011 or 2012, and we would most certainly want it to match the other two sections of the roof that are adjacent. The north side tile roof was replaced due to extreme wear and tear three summers ago when it was leaking into the west end unit. Since the product used on this roof and the south roof was no longer available, we changed to a different tile. Please do not hesitate to call if there are any additional questions. Sin ely, Frank W.
