GENERAL
1. The contractor shall coordinate mechanical, structural, and architectural drawings
to locate and size openings,embeds, etc. Notify the engineer of any conflicts.
2. Refer to architectural drawings for all finishes and dimensions not shown, etc.
3. Typical details and notes on these sheets shall apply unless specifically shown
or noted otherwise. Constructiondetails not fully shown or noted shall be similar
to details shown for similar conditions.
4. The contractor shall verify, prior to construction, that the new construction
will not conflict with any existing utilities. If conflicts arise, the contractor shall
notify the architect and shall stop the work until an appropriatesolution is found.
5. Due to the intricacies of construction, it is impractical to specify or indicate every
detail. In such cases, the current rules of good construction practices, manufacturer
recommendations and applicable specifications shall govern.
6. Contractor shall not scale these drawings for construction purposes. In the event
of omissions of necessary dimensions, the contractor shall notify the engineer.
7. Typical details and notes on these sheets shall apply unless specifically shown
or noted otherwise. Construction details not fully shown or noted shall be similar
to details shown for similar conditions.
REINFORCING STEEL
1. Reinforcing steel shall conform to ASTM -615, Grade 60, except that stirrups, ties,
breakout dowels, and reinforcing to be welded shall be Grade 40.
2. Minimum concrete protection for reinforcement: (per ACI 7.7.1)

SCOPE: Furnish all materials and labor required to execute this work
as indicated on drawing and as specified, as necessary to complete the
contract. Electrical work shall include, but not limited to, these major
items:
A Complete wiring system for new lighting and power as shown,
including new panelboards, new conduits, newwires, new wiring
devices, new control devices, etc. for a complete lighting and
and power system.
a. Complete feeder(s) installation as required for new and/or
electrical apparatus as shown on single line diagram and
drawings.
b. Complete branch circuit wiring required for the connection of
emergency lighting and exit signs to existing emergency stand
by power system.
2. Fire alarm system Will be by others. Coordinate connections to the
hood & duct detection
3. Complete connection of HVAC/Plumbing motor(s), water heater(s),
equipment etc. furnish by mechanical - refer to both electrical and
and mechanical drawing for scope and work and addifinal infor-
mation.
4. Provide grounding and bonding Facilities.
5. Complete all electrical demolition as required.
6. Core drilling and patching of existing building structure required for
electrical work Core drilling shall follow Building Standard procedures
and contractor shall have written approvals from building owner prior
to start of any work.
7. Test of entire system and work
8. Operating, Maintenance and identification instructions manuals, if
any.
9. PERMITS AND FEES: Obtain and pay for all necessary permits, inspec-
tions, examinations and fees or charges necessary for execution and
completion of electrical work
10. REGULATIONS AND CODES:
A Applicable codes. National Electric Code (2005)
Conform to the prevailing edition and amendments thereto of the
Town of Vail Electrical Code, pertinent NFPA publications
and to the requirements of Federal, State or other City agencies
having jurisdiction.
11. SHOP DRAWINGS AND SUBMITTAL
A Contractor shall submit shop drawings for engineer review and approval.
B. Shop drawing submittal shall include:
1. Panelboard(s).
2. Electric Baseboard
12. CONDUIT AND WIRE:
A CONDUCTOR SIZES AND TYPES: Use only copperwire, 600 volt
insulation, stranded in sizes #8 and larger, solid in sizes #10 and
smaller. Control wiring shall be #14, stranded. In sizes #1 and
smaller, use types TW, THHN or THW. In sizes largerthan #1, use
THW or XHHW. Use type THHN for wires entering or passing
through fluorescent lighting fixtures.
B. MC cable permitted per local codes.
13. ELECTRICAL DEVICES
A Convenience receptacles will be 20 amp, commercial grade
decora style. Finish per owner or architect.
B. Light switches will be 20 amp, commercial grade,
decora style. Finish per owner or architect
C. Dimming switches will be a minimum of 600w or as noted.
Provide decora style, finish per owner or architect
D. All mounting heights will conform to ADA guidelines. Typical receptacle
heights will be +1 8!AFF and switch heights will be +46PAFF
unless noted otherwise.
E. Provide GFI type receptacles at kitchens, bathrooms,
garages, exterior etc. as required by code.
14. SUPPORT
A Support all electrical equipment independent of accessible ceilings as

A At fire rated wall space electrical boxes at opposite sides of the wall
no less than 24 "' horizontal distance.
