Dear Ms. Jennifer Babcock:
At your request, Terracon Consultants, Inc. (Terracon) has completed revised engineering
design of the proposed Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) retaining walls for the proposed
First Chair to be located in Vail, Colorado. Our design services have been completed subject to
the Terracon Supplement to Agreement, 65095812, dated May 19, 2010. Engineering plans and
calculations used in the design of the retaining wall are attached. Sheet RW-1 of the project
plans provides the Technical Scope of Work, along with material requirements and
specifications for construction of the retaining wall.
The engineering design has been completed on the basis of information provided to Terracon
as outlined in Section 1.03 of the Technical Scope of Work as shown on Sheet RW-1 of the
project plans. The engineering design has been based on the following geotechnical
parameters:

With this submittal, our engineering design services for the project are complete. The Technical

Code, International Building Code and the Building Construction and Safety Code, NFPA 5000
