Draft “Opportunity Statement”
Work with Susanne Silverthorne to draft an opportunity statement (rather than a problem statement) outlining what the overall goals (2-3) are for the site and highlighting any new or
unique opportunities there are (ie. the addition of the Wendy’s site, the ability to re-master plan and improve on previous concepts, etc.) in implementing the goals
Primary Goals to include:
Development of Fire Station
Development of Affordable Housing
Secondary Goals/Objectives include:
Allow for/Facilitate integration with larger West Vail master planning area (ie. Holiday Inn/Gart Properties)
Allow for/Facilitate Re-development of Shell site
New Opportunities
Addition of Wendy’s Site
Possible integration/inclusion of Shell site
Green Building/LEED Certification
Re-engage public in review of “new” project and scope
Re-assessment of development possibilities given development of steeper portions of site, limited access from Chamonix Rd. and re-alignment of internal road/drive
Create/Refine Schedule for “Re-Master Planning” Site
Decide on new RFP process or re-engaging previous consultant (Davis Partnership)
Assign realistic timeframes to each critical step in process
