All projects requiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. Please refer to
the submittal requirements for the particular approval that is requested. An application for Design Review cannot be
accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department. The project may also need
to be reviewed by the Town Council and /or the Planning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval lapses
unless a building permit is issued and construction commences within one year of the approval.

Re: Angelo Unit Lock -Off addition
Dear Bill:
As we discussed last week, the Angelo's own units 301 and 313 in the Vail Mountain Lodge.
Unit 313 is a lock -off to unit 301. The applicants are working with the lodge to incorporate
approximately 69 sq. ft. of current hallway space into the floor plan for unit 313. We are
seeking Design Review approval from the Town to allow this square footage to be added.
Currently, unit 301 has 2,436 sq. ft. of GRFA and the lock -off, unit 313, is 522 sq. ft. Unit 313
is currently considered an "attached accommodation unit" under the provisions of 12 -7A -8 of
the zoning code which allows an attached accommodation unit to be up to one third the total
floor area of the dwelling unit it is attached to. Since unit 301 is 2,436 sq. ft., unit 313 can be
up to 812 sq. ft. The current application would allow unit 313 to be 591 sq. ft., which is
within the allowed floor area of this attached accommodation unit.
Included with this application is a layout showing the two units as well as a proposed floor
plan for unit 313. There are no exterior changes to the building being made as part of this
application. Also included is a joint property owner approval to submit this application.
We understand that should the area be incorporated into the unit, a revised condominium
map will be required.
