ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL MEET OR EXCEED TOWN OF VAIL STANDARDS, AND BE SUBJECT TO OBSERVATION BY TOWN OF VAIL REPRESENTATIVES. A COPY OF TOWN OF VAIL STANDARDS MUST BE OBTAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR. 2. PROVIDE DEWATERING FOR GROUND WATER ENCOUNTERED DURING EXCAVATION AND TRENCHING. CONSTRUCTION DEWATERING PERMITS ARE REQUIRED AND MUST BE OBTAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR IF GROUND WATER IS ENCOUNTERED. 3. NOTIFY OWNER AND ENGINEER IF NEED ARISES TO PERFORM WORK OUTSIDE OF PROJECT LIMITS. DO NOT PROCEED WITH WORK UNTIL PERMISSION IS OBTAINED. 4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL LIGHTS, SIGNS, BARRICADES, FLAG MEN OR OTHER DEVICES NECESSARY TO PROVIDE FOR PUBLIC SAFETY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CURRENT MANUAL OF UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES. THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL CONSTRUCTION ZONE TRAFFIC CONTROL. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FENCING, TRAFFIC, AND PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION AROUND THE ENTIRE WORK SITE. 5. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL WORK SO THAT TRAFFIC DISRUPTIONS ON AFFECTED ROADS ARE MINIMIZED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL ROAD CLOSURES WITH THE TOWN OF VAIL PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, THE TOWN OF VAIL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS, AND ALL AFFECTED ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS. 6. OBSERVATIONS OF THE WORK IN PROGRESS AND ON -SITE VISITS BY THE ENGINEER ARE NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY BY THE ENGINEER OF THE CONTRACTOR'S CONTRACTUAL RESPONSIBILITIES. 7. SAFETY IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. THE ENGINEER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFETY IN, ON, OR ABOUT THE PROJECT SITE, NOR FOR COMPLIANCE BY THE APPROPRIATE PARTY WITH ANY REGULATIONS RELATING HERETO. 8• CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COORDINATION OF ALL WORK SHOWN "BY OTHERS" WHICH INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO INSTALLATION OF UTILITY COMPANIES FACILITIES. 9. THE OWNER SHALL OBTAIN AT HIS EXPENSE ALL PERMITS, INSPECTIONS, AND MATERIALS TESTING, WHICH ARE As- NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE PROPOSED WORK, INCLUDING SOILS AND COMPACTION TESTING. COPIES OF ALL PERMITS, INSPECTIONS, AND MATERIALS TESTING RESULTS ARE TO BE SUPPLIED TO THE OWNER, AND ENGINEER AS SOON AS PRACTICAL. 10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MINIMIZE ALL OFF SITE SOIL TRACKING. ALL SOIL TRACKED OFF SITE SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY CLEANED UP TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ENGINEER AND /OR THE TOWN OF VAIL. 11. ALL EXCAVATIONS FOR UTILITY LINES, CULVERTS, TRENCHES, OR TUNNELS SHALL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION (OSHA), COLORADO INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION, COLORADO DIVISION OF MINES, OR THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, WHICHEVER APPLIES. 12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN EXISTING DRAINAGE CHANNELS AND IRRIGATION FACILITIES DURING CONSTRUCTION AS NECESSARY TO PROTECT ROADS AND PROPERTY, AND PROVIDE CONTINUOUS IRRIGATION SERVICE. 13. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL APPROPRIATE PRECAUTIONS TO SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE ANY POTENTIAL POLLUTION CAUSED BY HIS ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING VEHICLE FUELING, STORAGE OF FERTILIZERS OR CHEMICALS, ETC. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE IDENTIFIED PROCEDURES FOR HANDLING POTENTIAL POLLUTANTS AND HAVE IDENTIFIED SPILL PREVENTION AND RESPONSE PROCEDURES PRIOR TO ANY ACTIVITIES AT THE PROJECT SITE. 14. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT SCALE DRAWINGS FOR CONSTRUCTION PURPOSES. ANY MISSING DIMENSIONS OR DISCREPANCIES IN PLANS, FIELD STAKING, OR PHYSICAL FEATURES SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER. IF THE CONTRACTOR PROCEEDS WITH THE WORK WITHOUT NOTIFYING THE ENGINEER, HE DOES SO AT HIS OWN RISK. 15. DISPOSAL OF TRASH, ASPHALT, CONCRETE AND CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND CONSIDERED PART OF THE WORK. 16. REFER TO TOWN OF VAIL STANDARDS FOR PAVEMENT SECTIONS AND COMPACTION REQUIREMENTS. PARKING AREAS, AND ROADWAY AREAS MUST BE CONSTRUCTED ACCORDING TO REQUIREMENTS OF THE PROJECT GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER, AND TOWN OF VAIL STANDARDS. 17. NOTIFY ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY IF DISCREPANCIES ARE SUSPECTED IN TOPOGRAPHY AS DEPICTED HEREIN. 'S. THE CONTRACTOR MUST INSTALL AND MAINTAIN EROSION CONTROL FACILITIES PER THE EROSION CONTROL PLAN. ADDITIONAL EROSION CONTROL MAY BE REQUIRED BY THE TOWN OF VAIL DEPENDING ON SITE CONDITIONS AND WEATHER AND IS CONSIDERED A PART OF THE WORK. 19. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING A STORMWATER CONSTRUCTION DISCHARGE PERMIT, ESTABLISHING FINAL STABILIZATION OF THE SITE AND SUBMITTING AN INACTIVATION NOTICE PER THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE STORMWATER CONSTRUCTION DISCHARGE PERMIT. 20. STAGING AREA LOCATION TO BE DETERMINED BY CONTRACTOR WITH COORDINATION AND APPROVAL BY OWNER AND ENGINEER. ALL CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT, FUELING TANKS, FIELD OFFICE, MATERIALS STAGING, ETC. SHALL BE LOCATED WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE STAGING AREA. 21. EXISTING GRADES WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION LIMITS WERE PROVIDED BY THE OWNER, HOWEVER VARYING FEATURES MAY EXIST. 22. ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL CONFORM TO TOWN OF VAIL OR UTILITY STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND BE SUBJECT TO CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATION BY THEIR REPRESENTATIVES. COPIES OF MUNICIPAL AND UTILITY STANDARDS MUST BE OBTAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE ONE (1) SIGNED COPY OF THE PLANS (APPROVED BY THE TOWN OF VAIL) AND ONE (1) COPY OF THE APPROPRIATE SPECIFICATIONS ON THE JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE ONE COMPLETE SET OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON THE JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES. I 23. SEE ARCHITECTURAL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, LANDSCAPE, AND STRUCTURAL PLANS FOR ANY ADDITIONAL NOTES AND REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSTRUCTION. 24. CONTACT THE TOWN OF VAIL PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT FOR A SCHEDULE OF DATES, HOURS, AND ANY OTHER I LIMITATIONS REGARDING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY WITHIN THE TOWN OF VAIL. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ACTIVITIES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY. 25. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TREE PROTECTION ON THE SITE. i 26. WHERE PRACTICAL THE CONTRACTOR IS TO PROVIDE AT LEAST TWO TIES FROM PHYSICAL MONUMENTS TO ALL FITTINGS, VALVES, MANHOLES, AND THE END OF ALL SERVICE LINES. 4. PEAK CIVIL ENGINEERING, INC. ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR UTILITY LOCATIONS. PRIOR TO BEGINNING ANY CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT ALL. APPROPRIATE UTILITY COMPANIES FOR LINE LOCATIONS. HE SHALL THEN LOCATE ALL UTILITIES (INCLUDING DEPTH). IF ANY CONFLICTS WITH THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION ARE FOUND, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT PEAK CIVIL ENGINEERING TO REVIEW.
