Re: Minor Amendment to SDD for Vail Plaza Hotel
Dear Warren:
Thank you for meeting with me earlier in the week to discuss the proposed airlock/vestibule
addition to the Vail Plaza Hotel at the rear (east end) of the lobby. At that meeting we agreed
that the proposed addition would be classified as a minor amendment to the SDD.
The addition contains approximately 80 sq. ft. of common area space to improve the overall
quality of the hotel lobby and the size of which is largely dictated by the need for ADA
accessibility. This addition is being proposed as part of an overall campaign to improve the
quality and function of the property with the goal of improving the financial performance of
the facility and improving the guest experience.
Included with this letter is an application for a minor SDD amendment, at DRB application,
application fees totaling $1,250 and a copy of the proposed plans including a civil plan
addressing the grading and drainage in the area adjacent to the proposed vestibule.
The applicant is very anxious to begin this work and any assistance you can give us with
expediting these approvals would be greatly appreciated.
