The exit and emergency lighting should be connected to the generator. The battery packs should cover the first few seconds until the generator comes on and provide some backup if we have to go to manual start. The manual pull stations should be "under employee" control. Smoke detector are required. Beam detectors are acceptable. Submit the plans to BCER for review. My cell is 970 376-0738 if you have additional questions or concerns and want to talk to me outside the voicemail drill. E5.2 Emergency lighting shall be feed from generator. Battery packs are not approved as the sole source for emergency power. Steve mentioned that your concern was that the battery packs were not going to last long enough to allow for egress. If the battery packs are specified such that the required 90 minutes is achieved do we still need the secondary source of emergency power? 11. E10.1 Fire alarm plans are not coordinated with base system, fail to provide adequate detection, and are not stamped by FPE of Record. After reviewing the amendments on www.vailgov.com<http://www.vailgov.com/> it sounds like we need to add smoke detectors and pull stations. Is there any other detection equipment that we need to show?
