Solaris Garage Zamboni entrance detail
Warren,
This door will be coiled up all the time. It's purpose is to drop in the event of a fire to create a 2 hr break.

I will be interested in the aesthetics of the coiling door. Things such
as color will be of interest. Is there nothing more aesthetically
pleasing that will do the trick?
Warren Campbell
Chief of Planning.

Here is the drawing. It should be fine, but let me know you
interpretation. Dave Leiker (303-817-2299, if you have bad news)

I agree if Building Dept agrees and Com Dev does not have any DRB
issues.

Maggie & Christine:
I touched base with Mike McGee this morning to clarify the Level 1
entrance to the Parking Garage where the Zamboni will drive through to
surface the ice on the Plaza skating rink. Since the occupant load
from
the back-of-house corridors from the retail space dumps into this
breezeway/passage with a ceiling above it, the entire breezeway must
be
rated 2 hours with 90-minute fire-rated doors. The back-of-house
corridors dumping into the 2-hour rated breezeway must also have
90-minute rated doors, but these doors must be side-hinged and
swinging
in the direction of egress travel because they are used for egress of
occupants.
The drawing attached shows the condition so everyone is in the same
communication loop and informed the same way. The 2-hour rated
breezeway is the #142 passage shown. The non-egress garage entrance
is
shown and the two side corridor doors are shown. Occupants within the
garage space have two independent means of egress out of the garage
space without having to pass through the Zamboni Garage Door for
egress.
Please call if you have any questions. Thanks.
