EMERGENCY PROCEDURES HANDBOOK
The purpose of this training program is to standardize the procedures used by employees at CineBistro, in case of any emergency. these procedures should be followed when contacting 911,
when handling situations, and working with Emergency Responders from the fire Dept. EMS, Sheriff’s Dept. or Vail Police Dept.
Each employee should completely understand and follow these Standard Operational Procedures to insure that the guest or employee is taken care of in any situation.
It is the responsibility of each employee to assist as needed during any emergency, as long as the life or safety of the employee is not compromised. Your safety is paramount!
The front- line employee is the key person relaying critical information. It cannot be stressed enough, how important initial information coming from on-scene personnel is to emergency
responders. This information, and it’s accuracy, can sometimes make the difference between the success and failure to control an incident, or between life and death. Each employee must
cooperate fully with Emergency Responders and law enforcement before, during and after the incident, to complete the investigation of an incident.
The following Emergency Procedures are provided to give specific guidelines to follow during certain events. These procedures may be followed as written, or may be used in junction with
the Standard Operational Procedures for Cinebistro property. While each of the procedures is to be followed, the need for common sense and practical judgment is still necessary, since
each emergency will have different circumstances and specific needs.
MEDICAL EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
During any medical emergency it is the responsibility of each employee to take charge of the situation at hand and administer aid to their specific level of training. These procedures
will assist you no matter what the nature of the medical emergency is. While this requires a level of common sense, if the health of well-being of the guest and/or employee is in question,
you should initiate the following procedures. Never attempt procedures that you are not trained or certified to practice.
Immediately upon report of serious injury or ill health, call the emergency dispatch 911.
State the nature of the emergency.
State the exact location of the emergency.
Do not hang up until the emergency dispatchers do so, they may need more information.
Send someone to the front door to guide emergency responders to the patient.
Immediately send someone to the location of the patient to gather more information and find the easiest way for the EMS crews to access them .
Determine the status of the patient.
Are they alert? Can they speak to you? Do they respond to painful stimuli or are they unresponsive?
If patient is unresponsive, remember ABC:
Airway -is their airway clear?
Breathing -are they breathing? Look, listen. feel air exchange.
Circulation -Do they have a pulse?
Check for obvious trauma injury; bleeding or broken bones.
If there is bleeding, how much? Blood showing? Profuse bleeding? "Spurting" from arteries?
In the event of serious bleeding it is important to apply direct pressure on the wound to prevent further loss of blood.
• Trauma Injury? Did the patient fall or hit by something? Are there obvious broken bones?
If the patient has broken bones, or suspected head, neck, or back injury, do not move them! Movement could cause further damage and possibly paralysis. Have them lie still, and support
the head to prevent further injury. Cover With a blanket, keep warm.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES Continued
Immediately administer first aid to your level of training for all life threatening events. If the event is not life threatening, take control of the situation and comfort the injured
party until help arrives.
Relinquish control of the event to emergency personnel (EMS, Fire Dept., Ambulance Service, Sheriff's Dept.) upon their arrival. If possible, have someone meet at the entrance and escort
them to the location of the patient.
