Hi there,
I have included the revised Emergency Response Plan. Please note that we have discussed the buddy
system amongst our management team, as well as evacuation procedures. We have devised a plan to
educate our staff as well and will be going over emergency procedures when we begin our training. That
will take place 6/30-7/3. We have tentative plans for soft openings on 7/5-7/7, and being open for
business on the 8th, assuming all else falls into place.
Also, we were wondering about official choking/Heimlich maneuver training for our staf£ Is there
someone you recommend?
Please let me know if there are any more adjustments I need to make to this document. Thank you for
your time.
Sincerely,
Gayle Hendrix
Manager

BOL Emergency Response Plan
Purpose:
* Clear all people from inside Bol as quickly as possible.
* Ensure all associates know their responsibilities in the event of an emergency
evacuation. Planning and awareness training prior to an emergency are essential.
* Protect the lives and health of all patrons and associates by coordinating evacuation in a
safe and timely manner.
Associate Responsibility
It is the obligation of each associate to take responsibility for working safely, being aware
of the safety of others, and knowing their responsibilities in emergency situations.
Fire Alarm System Overview
The main fire alarm panel is located in the Fire Command Center on level3 behind the
Solaris front desk. All fire alarm detection and notification devices including those in
Bol report to the front desk alarm panel. All devices are addressable and the building
is fully equipped with a sprinkler system.
Alarm Notification Overview
Fire alarms initiated in Bol will sound notification devices (sirens, strobes) in the kitchen,
bowling alley and dining areas. Activated alarms in other parts of the building will
provide notification in the affected areas.
Activated Alarm
Maintenance/security personnel will be immediately dispatched to the activated device
location to investigate. A message will be announced over the PA system stating the
alarm is being investigated and to wait for additional instructions. We will be
implementing the buddy system. The M.O.D will move to the rear of the building with
the Bowling supervisor starting at the pinsetters and working their way to the front exit
looking for fire, warning signs, and hazards.
In Event of Confirmed Fire/Smoke
In the event of a confirmed alarm requiring evacuation, an announcement over the PA
system will be made asking all guests and associates in the affected area to proceed to the
nearest exit and evacuate the building. Again we will be implementing the buddy system.
The M.O.D will stay in the rear of the building with the Bowling supervisor starting at
the pinsetters and working their way to the front exit behind the last people to evacuate
looking for hazards. The host and asst. manager will be directing guests out to the ice rink
from the dining room.
Associates will be responsible for assisting guests to the nearest exit and directing them
to the ice rink plaza.
In the event of a fire in the dining room, the host and asst. manager will remain up front
while the MOD and bowling supervisor stay towards the rear and pinsetter area and direct
people out towards stair 19. The servers will all be in charge of escorting out the guests
in their sections using the buddy system. The MOD will make sure all people have safely
exited before leaving themselves.
Bol management responsibilities:
• Train all staff on their individual roles and responsibilities in emergency response
situations.
• Organize and direct associates and guests to the nearest exit and to the designated
safe area(ice rink plaza).
• Call the front desk to provide the MOD and Fire Command Center with situation
updates.
• Procedures for interrupted service, restoring the house lights, and securing cash
will be developed and implemented by Bol management.
• Bol management and hotel maintenance/security staff will ensure all lanes,
restrooms, dining areas, and kitchen exit have been evacuated.
• After evacuation has been confirmed, take current associate work schedule to the
designated safe area and account for all associates.
• When the fire department arrives, assist them as instructed.
• Do not re-enter the building or allow others to do so until the All Clear has been
given.
