Fire Alarm/Emergency Response Plan
In order to provide direction for an emergency within the Solaris building,an Emergency
Response Team has been established. This team will consist of:
• Manager on Duty
• Director of Maintenance
• Front Office Manager
• Guest Services Manager
• Maintenance Manager
• Executive Housekeeper
The building will be occupied as of June 21,2010 and Solaris staff will be on-site 24
hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year.

Fire Command Center
The Fire Command Center located on level 3 behind the front desk is designated as the
Emergency command center.
Fire Alarm Procedures:
Immediately upon alarm notification:
Front Desk Staff: �
• Ca11911 and indicate there is a fire alarm condition on the property. Provide
specific information on location and type of device.
• Notify engineering by radio by saying,"We have a Priority 1 Fire Alarm. Please
go to (location)."
• Include the type of device in alarm—Sprinkler flow/heat detector/smoke alarm.
• Notify Manager on Duty of the alarm and of any in-house guests with physical
disabilities.
• Notify other Emergency Response Team members of the alarm.
• Keep 911 dispatch informed as you receive relevant information.
Make alarm announcement:
INITIAL ALARM
ATTENTION. MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE. THIS IS THE
(manager on duty/general manager). THERE HAS BEEN A FIRE ALARM
ACTNATED ON . THIS ALARM IS BEING INVESTIGATED.
ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE BROADCAST TO YOU
MOMENTARILY.
• Print out guest list and give to Manager on Duty in case evacuation is necessary.
Maintenance Staf£
At the sound of an alarm:
• Get specific alarm location information from front desk/Manager on Duty.
• Acknowledge the location and that you are responding.
• Report to the incident area using the stairs.
Staff Investigation:
Upon arrival at the scene:
1. Locate the activated alarm device.
2. Assess the situation and determine emergency/non-emergency status.
1. Non-emergency
• Advise front desk/Manager on Duty of incident status.
• Return to the Fire Command Center to guide the fire department to the
location of the incident.
2. Actual fire
• Advise front desk/Manager on Duty of incident status.
• If the fire is in its early stages,does not pose immediate danger, if you have
received proper training,and it is safe to do so,utilize the proper equipment at
the scene and attempt to extinguish the fire.
• When the fire department arrives, assist them as instructed.
• As required-assist with crowd control and evacuation.
• Coordinate emer ency shut down of utilities—gas,power,HVAC as

• Return to the Fire Command Center to assist guiding the fire department to
the incident location.
Mana�er on Dutv:
• Report immediately to the Fire Command Center.
• Confirm that 911 has been called.
• Confirm that maintenance has been called and that they are investigating.
• Remain at the Fire Command Center and monitor the radio providing further
instructions until the fire department arrives.
EVACUATION:
• Two designated safe areas:

on duty/general manager). THERE HAS BEEN A FIRE REPORTED ON
PROCEED TO THE NEAREST STAIRS AND EXIT THE BUILDING. DO NOT USE
THE ELEVATOR. OTHER INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE BROADCAST TO YOU
MOMENTARILY.
Manager on Dutv:
L Make the Confirmed Fire/Smoke alarm announcement.
2. Direct Emergency Response Team members to the building exits to assist
guests and associates.
3. Assign an available Emergency Response Team member/staff/manager to call
and offer assistance to any in-house guests with physical disabilities. comment:se5c iea�e�es�ue co ci,�F��e
Dept. Bldg staff does not have access to
Phase II elevator operations.
Emergenc��Response Team:
• Immediately report to the Fire Command Center at the front desk.
• As directed by MOD,proceed to building exits and direct guests and associates to
the designated safe areas.
• At the designated safe zone, an Emergency Response Team member will assure
that all guests and associates are present,comfortable,and accounted for.
• Do not re-enter the building or allow others to do so until All Clear has been
announced.
Guest Services/Valet:
• Assist directing guests and associates away from the building.
• Assist with traffic control as needed.
• Ensure all entrances,walkways, and exits are clear.
• Do not re-enter the building or allow others to do so until All Clear has been
announced.
Retail Stores:
• Employees in retail areas will escort customers out of their area and direct them to
the nearest exits and safe area.
• All cash must be secured immediately if there is enough time to safely do so.
• Exit the building and proceed to the designated safe area(skating rink).
Housekeepin�:
• Vacate their work area and shut doors behind them.
• Ensure that carts and equipment are not blocking any doors, stairways,exits,or
corridors.
• Exit the building and proceed to the nearest designated safe area.
Office staff:
• Immediately vacate their work areas and shut the door to their offices.
• Confidential files must be secured immediately if there is enough time to safely
do so.
• Exit the building and proceed to the nearest designated safe area.
Restaurant:
• Employees will escort customers out of the area and direct them to the nearest
exits and safe area.
• All cash drawers are to be immediately secured if there is enough time to safely
do so.
• All stoves and kitchen equipment are to be immediately turned off.
• Exit the building and proceed to the nearest designated safe area.
Loading dock:
• Cease all operations.
• Have drivers secure their vehicles and leave the building on foot via the nearest
exit.
• Secure the area and exit the building and proceed to the nearest designated safe
area.
ALL STAFF:
• Assist guests and associates and direct them to exits.
• When you hear the fire alarm,calmly exit the building and proceed to the nearest
designated safe area.
• Proceed quietly and calmly—do not run or shout.
• All management staff,upon completion of their assigned functions should exit the
building and proceed to the nearest designated safe area.
All Clear announcement to be given by Manager on Duty upon approval by Emergency
Services personnel.
ALL CLEAR
ATTENTION. MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE. THIS IS THE(manager
on duty/general manager). THE ALARM WHICH SOUNDED HAS BEEN
INVESTIGATED AND DETERMINED TO BE A NON-EMERGENCY. REPEAT,
THE ALARM WAS INVESTIGATED AND DETERMINED TO BE A NON-
EMERGENCY. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE AND WE THANK
YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
