We are approving the installation of the window subject to the following: 1) That the final product look substantially like the drawings submitted. 2) That the window and trim color match the other windows in the building (we will provide a sample of the paint) 3) That the actual cutting and installation take place in a minimum of time, currently estimated at 1 -2 days -and that any openings be protected from wind/rain should this occur. 4) That you apply for and receive all necessary permits from the Town of Vail. Unit 1 Pitkin Creek Townhomes Vail, Colorado Dear Mark: This is to confirm my findings regarding the proposed new window opening in the south wall of the above noted residence_ Essentially, you will be cutting a 3' wide window opening into this existing solid framed wall. 1 have determined that this new opening will not affect the structural integrity of this building. The only structural requirement will be the necessity for a header over the new opening. I have determined that a triple 2x4 header will adequately support the design loads for this residence. These design loads are 100 pounds per square foot of snow load and 15 pounds per square foot of dead load. This new header should be supported by a single 2x6 trimmer on either end. This assembly shall be made with #2 Doug -fir or better material. Furthermore, it shall be nailed together per the requirements of the 2005 ASD/LRFO NDS and the 2009 International Residential Code.
