General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving minor cha -
provements, such as roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retaining walls, etc. Applicable Vail
Town Code sections can be found at www.vail9ov.com under Vail Information —Town Code Online. All projects re-
quiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. An application for Design
Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department, as
outlined in the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by the Town Council and/or the Plan-
ning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a
building permit is issued and construction commences.

RE:Vail golf course Bridges#11 Replacement Project
The Vail Recreation District(VRD),working in conjunction with the Town of Vail(TOV) is currently working on plans
to replace the bridges on the Vail Golf course located at the#11 and#17 holes.
Background:
This project is a result of an engineering study conducted by Bourne Engineering firm from Westminster CO. This
study was conducted at the request for the TOV to evaluate the Property conditions and provide and analysis for
physical needs for the assets owned by the TOV and operated by the VRD. It was determined that these bridges
have exceeded their"useful life"and are currently showing severe deterioration.
TOV then contracted Loris and Associates Inc. of Lafayette CO to draft conceptual plans for the bridges. The VRD
continued with the process working with Loris as we�l as a hydrology expert to prepare for the bridge replacement.
Purpose:
The purpose of this project is to replace the bridges and provide safe crossing for both golfers as well as Nordic
skiers.
Details:
This project will involve removing the existing bridge structures as well as excavating and removing the existing
abutments. We will then install new abutments and bridges in the existing locations. Both bridges will have
similar architecture to the#15 bridge(please see attached photos).
