Box 2300 Edwards, Colorado 81632 Subject Kellerman Residence Remodel Building 7, Unit 1 Pitkin Creek Townhomes Vail, Colorado Dear Mark: This is to confirm my findings regarding the proposed new window opening in the south wall of the above noted residence_ Essentially, you will be cutting a 3' wide window opening into this existing solid framed wall. I have determined that this new opening will not affect the structural integrity of this building. The only structural requirement will be the necessity for a header over the new opening. I have determined that a triple 2x4 header will adequately support the design Toads for this residence. These design Toads are 100 pounds per square foot of snow load and 15 pounds per square foot of dead load. This new header should be supported by a single 2x6 trimmer on either end. This assernbly shall be made with #2 Doug-fir or better material. Furthermore, it shall be nailed together per the requirements of the 2005 ASD/LRFD NDS and the 2009 International Residential Code.
