Our original design included that the decking of the bridges be constructed using a wood,glu lam plank. The TOV public works dept requested that we look into the possibility of changing the decking from the wood plank to a concrete deck for both short and long term maintenance purposes. After investigating the possibility we determined that we could change the decking without impacting the structural integrity and that there would not only be long term savings due to maintenance requirements, but the initial installation costs would be less than installing the wood plank. This information was also shared with the VRD staff who concurred that this woutd be a good idea and that it would also be in line with our original intention to model our new bridges after the existing bridge on the#15 golf hole. The#15 bridge has a concrete deck and would be consistent with our original intentions. Please contact me regarding this request if you require any additional information.
