The Town of Vail asbestos abatement program is in addition to the State of Colorado's regu- lations. It is your responsibility to be in compliance with the State. Please contact the State directly for their requirements at the contact info listed below. 1 When is asbestos testing required? I ANY building projects disturbing more than these threshold levels of building materials require asbestos testing: 1 One- and Two - Family Dwellings: 30 square feet All Others: 160 square feet Asbestos testing results must be provided with your application for a building permit. i Tests which identify POSITIVE results at more than 1% require abatement by a State - certified and Vail- registered abate- ? ment contractor.
