We observed CMU elevator doors for upper level garage and lower lever garage elevator#3. We observed the placement of CMU, block, bond beams, ladder placement, Mortar thickness and reinforcing steel bar sizing, spacing tolerances, cell clearances and lap splice. The elevator#3 door for the upper level garage was missing a vertical bar in the cell directly east of the door and had a damaged block as well. We observed CMU for the north balcony wall of unit #224 up to 4', The unit #217 0' to 2' south of the north end of the east balcony wall up to 4' and the lower level garage elevator#3 doorway to the lintel over it. We observed the reinforcing steel bar size, lap splice, spacing tolerances, and cell clearances as well as ladder placement, mortar thickness and the overall condition of the wall. For the wall on unit #224, the bond beam was being epoxied into the east wall. We observed the drilled holes for depth, diameter and thickness. The holes appeared to be dirty, so we notified Sergio with Vogleman West. He re- cleaned the holes and placed the bars. We also observed the elevator #3 door wall on the upper level garage. The broken block was observed to be repaired and the missing bar was placed. The walls observed and re-observed today appeared to generally conform with project plans and specifications. We observed the reinforcing steel for bar size, spacing tolerances, cell clearances and lap splice, as well as the mortar thickness, dur-o-wall spacing, cell cleanliness, and the overall condition of the wall. The lower level garage elevator #9 door was missing a vertical bar on the north side of the door. We notified Sergio with Vogelman West and he immediately placed the bar in the empty cell, while we were present. The CMU walls for here and the garden level room 151 then appeared to generally conform with project plans and specifications.
