We observed reinforcing steel for terrace level, pour 2A. The reinforcing steel observations were made for number of bars, grade, diameter, spacing, lap length, and clearance. The missing ties, L-bars, and construction joint bars from yesterday's observations had been placed by J.D. Steel. The reinforcing steel then appeared to generally conform with the project plans and specifications. Manny with J.D. Stee� was informed of our observations. The post tension tendons were also observed for the terrace level, pour 2A for number of tendons, spacing, profile, back up bars, bursting steel, and the overall condition of the tendons. Several tendons could not reach the full profile height through the columns, though no reverse curvature appeared to be present in these locations. Manny with J.D. Steel was informed. The post tension tendons appeared to be placed in general accordance with the project plans and specifications. Andy Rose with PCL and Manny with J.D. Steel were informed of today's observations. We observed reinforcing steel placed for the slab on grade in the lower basement level, Gridlines 21-28, BN.6-T. We also observed the reinforcing steel placed for columns 445 & 446 on Level 3 and for the upper terrace level pour 5 post tension deck. The reinforcing steel for the areas/items mentioned above was observed for specified number of bars, grade, spacing, diameter, lap length, and clearance. Several cross ties and stir ups were missing in the columns. Several L-bars were observed to be missing in the post tension deck. We also observed the tendons placed for the terrace level post tension deck, pour 5. These tendons were observed for placement of back up bars, busting steel, tendon profiles, spacing, hot tendons, and the overall condition of the tendons. One profile height needed correcting and back up bars need to be placed for the temperature tendons. The pt deck and columns will be re-observed prior to concrete placement tomorrow. The reinforcing steel placed for the lower basement level SOG appeared to be in general compliance with the project plans and specifications. Andy with PCL and Manny with J.D. Steel were notified of today's observations. Finally, we observed the stressing/re-stressing of tendons for level 1, pours 1, 2, & 3. We observed post tension deck for Level 2, Pour 3. We observed the number of tendons, spacing, profile, back up bars, bursting steel, and the overall condition of the tendons. Several profiles were observed to not be within project plans and specifications. Manny with J.D. Steel was informed and immediately corrected the problem. The back up bars and bursting steel were observed to be incorrect in beam 2TG3,4,5. J.D. Steel will correct the problem. The horizontal profile in beam 2TG12 was observed to be greater than a 1:12 ratio in the south end. J.D. Steel began correcting this and will finish it tomorrow. Sheathing was being added in the southern end of a few tendons as well. These discrepancies will be re-observed in the morning. A coupler added to one tendon also needed to have tape placed over the ends of the PVC piping. We also observed the stressing of tendons for for Level 2, Pour 3 and Level 1, Pour 3. While on-site we observed the placement of post-tension tendons and reinforcing steel for level 3, pour 2. The post tension tendons were observed for specified quantities, profile heights, and general placement within the forms. The reinforcing steel was observed for specified sizes, quantities, splice lengths, clearance, and general placement within the forms. Several chairs were observed to be broken and/or missing across the pour area. Several back-up bars and hairpin bursting steel bars were observed to be missing in many of the banded tendons. Severa� bars also needed to be placed and/or tied securely across the pour area as well. Manny with JD Steel was informed and immediately began correcting the discrepancies. We observed the tendons for spacing, quantity, profile heights, smoothness, back up bars, bursting steel, and the overall condition of the tendons. Two groups of tendons were observed to not be fully encapsulated on the balcony in the southwest corner of the slab. Several areas were also missing back up bars and bursting steel. We also observed the reinforcing steel placed for L4P1. The reinforcing steel was observed for number of bars, spacing, grade, diameter, lap length, and clearance. Several bars in both the bottom and top mats were observed to be missing or not properly tied in place. Stud rails around the columns were also observed for quantity and direction.
