We re-observed the reinforcing steel and post tension tendons placed by J.D. Steel for Level 1, Pour 9. We observe the reinforcing steel for bar size, spacing, clearance, and lap splice. We observed the post tension tendons for spacing tolerances, quantity, profile heights, back up bars, bursting steel, and the overall condition of the tendons. We observed missing top and bottom mat bars, top and bottom beam bars, face bars, back up bars, and trim bars at various locations throughout the deck. We immediately notified Pedro with J.D. Steel and Jeff with PCL of the missing bars and J.D. Steel informed us that they would install the missing reinforcing steel. In addition, we observed several chairs missing for the post tension tendons at various locations throughout the deck. We immediately notified Pedro with J.D. Steel and he corrected the discrepancies. We will re-observe the reinforcing steel prior to the concrete placement. Jeff with PCL was informed of our observations. In addition, we observed holes drilled into the existing stem wall by PCL on the Terrace Level at BNNN.8 to 71. PCL utilized a wire brush and shop vac to clean the holes prior the placement of epoxy. We observed the holes for depth and the overall cleanliness. The drilled holes appeared to be in general accordance with the site specifications of 6 3/4" minimum depth for #6 bars. We observed reinforcing steel placed by J.D. Steel for shear wall #4 on Level 1. We observed the reinforcing steel for bar size, spacing, clearance, and �ap splice. We observed missing corner bars and cross ties at various locations on the north side. We immediately notified Pedro with J.D. Steel and he installed the missing bars. The reinforcing steel appeared to be placed in general accordance with the site specifications. Jeff with PCL was notified of our observations. In addition, we observed holes drilled by PCL into the existing topping slabs on the Terrace Level at Gridlines 70-KK on the Upper Basement Level at Gridlines B65.4 to P. PCL utilized a wire brush and shop vacuum to clean the holes. We observed the holes for depth, diameter, and the overall cleanliness. The holes on the Upper Basement Level failed to meet the minimum specified depth of 4 '/2" depth for#4 bars due to the thickness of the topping slab. The holes on the Terrace Level failed to meet the minimum specified depth of 5 5/8" depth for#5 bar due to the thickness of the topping slab. Jeff and Nick with PCL were notified of our observations. We re-observed the reinforcing steel and post tension tendons placed by J.D. Steel for Level 2, Pour 6. We observed that J.D. Steel had corrected the discrepancies listed on our 4/28/2009 report. The reinforcing steel and post tension tendons appeared to be placed in general accordance with the site specifications. Andy with PCL was informed of our observations. In addition, we observed holes drilled by PCL into the existing stem wall on the Terrace Level at Gridlines BSSS.3-48. PCL utilized a wire brush and shop vacuum to clean the holes. We observed the holes for depth, diameter, and the overall cleanliness. We observed the post tension tendons for quantity, profile heights, clearances, back up bars, bursting steel, and the overall condition of the tendons. We observed missing top & bottom mat bars, back up bars, bursting steel, and trim bars at various locations throughout the deck as well as several post tension tendon profile heights which did not appear to comply with the site specifications. We immediately informed Manny with J.D. Steel and Andy with PCL of our observations. J.D. steel informed us that they would correct these discrepancies. We will re-observe the reinforcing steel and post tension tendons prior to the concrete placement. In addition we observed reinforcing steel placed by J.D. steel for the top of Shear Wall #6. We observed the reinforcing steel for bar size, spacing, clearances, and lap splices. The reinforcing steel appeared to be in general accordance with the project plans and specifications.
