Hey Luke,
The attached Flue Sentinel fireplace damper installation manual does not prohibit the painting of the exposed Flue
Sentinel damper or the chimney top. The manual does not state that the product warranty will be voided if the damper
or chimney top are painted.
I called Flue Sentinel directly and was told the damper and chimney top can be painted.
Therefore, a final inspection will not be approved for the Wells Residence (permit B10-0163) until the exposed chimney
flue and top have been painted a dark green color to match the chimney trim and the other roof-top flues on the
building.
