NOV -17 -2010 08:03 FROM: TO:19704792452 P.5/8 1.1 The chimney / flue system Note that the flue system must be independently secured and must not rely on tho stove for r,upport, The stove must not be connected to a chimney flue serving any other appliance. (Several flues may run up a single chimney stack; use one flueway per appliance). Use a residential type masonry or listed type HT factory built chimney, High Temperature (H.T.) Chimney Standard UL- 103.1885 (2100 F,) for the USA, and High Temperature (650 °C) Standard ULC S•629 for Canada. The Internal dimensions of the chimney connector and chimney must not be less than a Inches diameter (or equivalent cross section), and should not be significantly larger then this. Too large a section will tend to allow the flue gases to cool excessively, causing sluggishness or unpredictability in the stove's performance. We recommend the length of the chimney system should be at least 16 feet (not required) above the stove in normal domestic situatlons, measured from the flue collar to the top of the chimney. Local conditions like for example - roof constructions, large trees nearby and high altitude, may influence the chimney draft and height. Therefore, contact the local professional chimney sweep or your Morso dealer. Do not connect to any air distribution duct or system. Important: If the installation Instructions are not followed carefully, It may cause dan- gerous situations like chimney • and house fires. Follow the instructions carefully and do not deviate from them as it may cause injuries to people or property. NOU -17 -2010 08:03 FROM: ■ ' . TO:19704792452 .;t;. The chimney must be properly installed and supported in accordance with the chimney manufac- turer's instructions. The enclosure is not intended to support the entire weight of the chimney. Sup- port components are available from the chimney manufacturer. If possible, an installation with a straight vertical chimney will provide the best draft and will be easi- est to clean. If a straight chimney is not possible due to obstructions, up to four 30° elbows may be used to offset the chimney around the obstructions. The elbows must be used in pairs in order to return the chim- ney to vertical after passing the obstruction. The first offset must be at least 8' (2.5m) above the Insert hearth. The Morso 5660 Fireplace Insert Zero Clearance Enclosures are approved for installation in the United States with the following chimneys: Metal Fab, Inc. Security Chimneys Selkirk Metalbest Simpson -Dora -Vent Model TG Model ASHT Model Ultra -Temp Model Dura -Plus (SDP) The chimney installation begins with a base plate or anchor plate mounted to the top of the Fireplace Insert zero Clearance Enclosure. Before the base plate is installed on the enclosure top, the flexible stainless steel flue connector (provided with the enclosure) that will connect the Insert to the chim- ney system must be attached to the base plate using the four provided sheet metal fasteners. See FIG. 1. Next, insert the anchor plate /flex connector assembly down through the hole in the top of the enclosure. Use the four provided sheet metal fasteners to secure the base /anchor plate to the enclosure top. Next slide the stainless steel 45° slip connector elbow all the way onto the stainless flex connector in preparation for installing the Insert. 110000000 Chimney Basel Anchor Plate Sheet Metal Fasteners • Stainless Steel Flex Connector Stainless Steel 45° Slip Elbow FIG. 1
