Vail Co. 81657 RE: Vail Valley Medical Center-Research Laboratory, Work due to New Remodel This letter is intended to describe the full scope of work for changes to the fire sprinkler
system that will be performed by Western States Fire Protection to accommodate the renovation. Required modifications to the existing Steel, Dry fire sprinkler system is as follows:
: Change existing dry system to wet system in research offices, garage will remain a dry system. : Existing dry valve will be relocated to Mechanical A. V. H. Room. : New floor control
valve will be added to wet system for basement level to separate dry garage and basement level systems. : During construction temporary coverage will be achieved by changing pendant
sprinkler heads to upright sprinkler heads. New quick response sprinkler heads will be added to all office areas excluding corridors and hallways (not in contract). : Fire Sprinkler
layout drawings will be submitted with Vail Permit Application when final design is aquired. All work performed will be in compliance with NFPA 13 and local requirements. Any new sprinklers
will match the existing sprinkler types and any added materials will be compatible with the existing system It is our understanding that this letter will be sufficient to obtain a permit
to proceed with with the work described above. No other work will be done without authorization from VFES. If further information is required to issue a permit please contact our office
