The conclusion the group reached was that, because precedent has already been set, the board has no grounds to deny. However, the board was clear that the issues you bring up must be addressed prior to me forwarding a request for approval. Specifically, the unit must be unobtrusive and quiet, and all of the expense related to the system be borne by the owner. As I noted in the request form, these criteria are met in this instance. � To clarify the Cabela fire situation, they had a recirculating air fan in their electronics closet. The electronics in the unit are extensive and produce a substantial amount of heat, even when the systems are inactive. The recirculating fan was overworked and burned out, causing a very small fire, contained to the fan itself, but a significant amount of smoke damage. A more efficient and capable cooling system is required and their consultants have determined this solution is the best available. Hope this helps. I have received enough approved votes that I am prepared to notify the Cabelas that they can proceed. Thanks for your input, questions and prompt replies. We certainly have grappled with this issue many times before. The key issues are noise, effect on sight lines, and cluttering the balconies. Power must be billed to the owner.
