Box 159 Vail, CO 81658 RE: Trees at 2940 Manns Ranch Rd Dear Charlie and Charlyn This letter summarizes the reason to remove the identified trees located on your properties at 2940 East and2940 West Manns Ranch Road in Vail, Colorado. 2940 East Tree#1 is a Colorado Spruce tree located in front of the house. The tree is showing signs of pine needle scale and is now growing outside of its intended space. When the tree was transplanted it likely provided a bit of contrast to the flat front yard. Now the tree is encroaching on the walkway and creates a screen between the house and street rather than a filter. Trees#2-4 are growing in a clump on the west side of the house. Removing these trees will allow the crowns of the adjacent trees to continue growing into well developed mature trees. 2940 West Tree#1 is a Colorado spruce tree located in front of the house. The tree has been heavily pruned over the years to allow pedestrian access along the walkway to the front door. The tree has severe scale infestation that causes a very heavy needle drop which � , is a maintenance issue and unsightly. The tree also offers little esthetic benefit to the landscape. The pruning and location are not a good fit for the space. Trees#2 and #3 are Colorado spruce trees located behind the house.
