Town and Country C Series fireplaces include our award
winning Maestro controls.
They include an elegant, programmable remote control
with a count -down timer, weekday /weekend on /off timer,
manual control and thermostat mode (where permitted), Up to 50 Feet
and an easy to read LCD display.
They also come with a small, wall- mounted control which
permits on /off operation, flame modulation and houses
the battery back -up system for operation during power
outages.
Maestro controls use an on- demand electronic ignition
system, a green alternative to standing pilots, which can
cut your annual fuel consumption up to 74 %.
Caution: While a hearth extension is not required and WINDOW
combustible flooring materials may be brought directly up to FRAME
the fireplace, many materials (such as wood flooring) may
not tolerate the radiant heat from this fireplace, resulting in
discoloration, shrinking and cracking. For this reason, we
suggest a non - combustible hearth that is no more than 1" MAX
above the bottom of the fireplace. If thicker, fireplace must
be raised accordingly.
Caution: Hearth extensions thicker than 1 "will interfere with
the window frame when opening.

GENERAL INSTALLATION
Remove all ashes and debris from the fireplace. Be sure gas supply to the fireplace is in the "OFF"
position. Remove gas log lighter for solid fuel burning fireplace if applicable. Position the damper
stop over the edge of the damper blade and tighten bolt. This should hold the damper partially
"OPEN" in case of an accidental closure. (See Figure 1)

BURNER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
ID THE EIKLORO GAS LOGS SYSTEM MUST BE INSTALLED
BY A LICENSED PLUMBER, LICENSED GAS FITTER, OR IN
SOME LOCALITIES A QUALIFIED SERVICE TECHNICIAN IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ALL LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL
CODES.
If the gas control valve is installed on the left side of the bumer and the gas supply line comes into
the right side of the fireplace, the gas supply line must continue to the left side of the fireplace (as
close to the rear firebox wall as possible) and terminate behind the gas valve inlet using rigid ' / 2"
black iron pipe. At this point, only the'/" aluminum manifold cab be used to complete the connection
to the gas control valve. It may be necessary to cut and re -flare the aluminum manifold to the
desired length for proper positioning of the burner pan.
1. Remove all ashes and debris from fireplace.
2. Be sure gas control valve to fireplace is in the OFF position.
3. Remove gas log lighter for solid -fuel burning fireplace if applicable.
4. To prevent accidental closing of the fireplace chimney damper, the damper must be:
a. Welded FULLY OPEN or
b. Completely removed or
c. FULLY OPEN using enclosed damper stop installed on the edge of the damper plate.
5. Place your EIKLOR FLAMES@ burner in fireplace with grate spokes toward the front of
fireplace and vertical baffle should be in line with chimney. (See Diagram 1)

a. Apply pipe thread sealer to gas supply line coming into fireplace (See Diagram 2,
point A) and install 3 /" x ' /2 " brass supply fitting (See Diagram 2, point 8) and tighten.
b. Install longer end of flared aluminum manifold with 3 /" brass flair nut (See Diagram 2,
point C) to %" x' /2 " brass supply fitting coming into fireplace, and shorter end (See
Diagram 2, point D) to back of gas control valve and tighten.
c. When connections are complete, NEVER TEST FOR GAS LEAKS WITH A LIT
MATCH OR OPEN FLAME. Slowly turn gas control valve to ON position and use
50/50 soap and water solution to test for leaks. Apply 50/50 soap and water solution
with a toothbrush or small paintbrush over all gas connections. A leak will be evident
by observation of bubbles on gas connections. If bubbles are observed, retighten
leaking gas connectors.
Page 8 of 15 EIKLOR FLAMES® Tech Support Hotline: 888.295.5647
LOGS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place back log on burner and place front
log on front support. Front and back log
are interchangeable; we recommend using
the longest log in front. (See Diagram 3)
2. Pull front log toward back log to create
1 1/2" space between front log and spokes
of grate. (See Diagram 3)
Diagram 3
3. Place twigs in grooves on top of front and Diagram 4
back log. (See Diagram 4)
4. Using ember material, create thin embers
(small like a penny and thin like a potato
chip) to lightly cover burner pan. Too thick
or too many embers will reduce the
desired glowing effect. Place lava rock up
to and around sides of ember bed to
simulate ashes.
5. Completed view. (See Diagram 4)
WARNING Failure to position items in accordance with these diagrams or failure to
use only parts specifically approved with the EIKLOR FLAMESO Gas Logs System

personal injury or loss of life.
A. This appliance has a pilot which must be lighted by hand. When lighting the pilot, follow these
instructions exactly.
B. BEFORE LIGHTING smell all around the appliance area for gas. Be sure to smell next to the floor

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
• Do not try to light any appliance.
• Do not touch any electric switch; do not use any phone in your building.
• Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor's phone. Follow the gas supplier's
instructions.
• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.

must be:
a. Welded FULLY OPEN or
b. Completely removed or
c. FULLY OPEN using enclosed damper stop installed on edge of damper plate.
2. For natural or liquid propane Eiklor Flames® Logs System with a safety pilot valve:
NATURAL GAS or LIQUID PROPANE
a. Read safety information label located on top of gas control
valve.
b. Find pilot mounted on left side of burner.

MAINTENANCE
Your EIKLOR FLAMESO Gas Logs System will last a lifetime, but periodic maintenance (at
least once a year) is recommended. EIKLOR FLAMESO authorized dealers are always
available to help. They will clean and adjust your burner and gas control valve and make
sure that everything is working properly. They will clean your logs; heavy soot build up on
your logs should be removed, but a light soot build up is desired for a realistic appearance.
Soot can be removed with a small paintbrush or vacuum cleaner; do not vacuum the
SUNGRO horticulture vermiculite, embers or lava rock.
Can you clean it yourself? Yes you can if you have the proper training! Safety is of prime
concern so we recommended that you call your EIKLOR FLAMES@ authorized dealer for
proper maintenance. If an EIKLOR FLAMES@ authorized dealer is unavailable, call us
directly at 888 - 295 -5647 and we will promptly answer your call.
