Structural Description
Four Seasons Resort Hotel at Vail, CO is a new design-build structure consisting of 10 story
floors including some basement levels, which are enclosed by basement walls. The structure
will be constructed of cast-in-place concrete with structural steel framing at the roof
assembly. The floor framing for buildings will consist of concrete flat plate utilizing post-
tension steel and regular reinforcing steel. The foundation system will consist of a
combination of mat concrete slab and concrete spread footings. The basement wall will be 4
stories high along north elevation and 2 or 3 stories high at south perimeter. The lateral force
will be resisted by concrete shear walls. The structure is designed in conformance with the
2003 International Building Code (IBC 2003).
