Peterman Asbestos Testing, Project Design, and Consulting INTROBUCI'ION: On August 22nd, 2006, an inspection/survey was conducted and 20 bulk samples were collected from the: The LandMark , 61OW. LionsHead Circle Vail,CO. 81657 The purpose of die inspection/survey was to locate and sample suspected asbestos containing materials that might be present in the Residence that is planned for demolition. The inspection was ma,de, and the samples were collected by 3ohn R. Peterman, an A.H.E.R.A. and State of Colorado Certified Asbestos Inspector. Grea.t care was taken during the inspection and sampli.ng to be as accurate as possible. It should be noted that minimal damage was done to the existing building structures during the inspection so there is no documentation for unseen conditions or stored items. All samples were anatyzed by DCM Science Lab in Wheatridge,CO. This laboratory is deemed `roficient"in the E.P.A.Quality Assurance (QA) program for the cletermination of asbestos in bulk materials, and is accredited by the American Hygiene Association(AHA). SAMPLING PROTOCQL: A random sampling scheme vt,as used to Sample the suspect materials that were discovered. If during any future demolition or renovation work, susPect material is discovered that hasn't been sampled and would be disturbed, work should be halted until tiie material has been tested, 3 . ..i . . . . . . . i • A & D Asbestos Testing and Consulting John R. Peterman AsbestosTestircg, Project Design, and C'onsulting . The LandMark 6I0 W. LionsHead Circle Vail, CO. 81657 BUILDING DESCRIPTION: The LandMark consists of two multi-story baildings with a connecting underground parking garage, 1'be Tower Building is the east building with seven stories, and a garage level. The Town House building has single level units on the first floor, and loft uaits on the tip levels. This survey covers the inside of the buildings. The interior walls are covered in sheetrock with a light texture, and wood paneling. Note: In some areas a texlure has been tioweled over the original finish. The ceilings are sbck with a heavy spray-on texture, and twin tee concrete with the saine spray-on texture. The basement area has suspended ceiling tiles throughout, and most have been replaced not long ago. The older tiles were tested in the gilly's Grill area. The floors are covered with caret, ceramic tiles, and sheet vinyl flooring. The sheet vinyl was not tested in this sunrey. 'I'ile heating is provided by baseboard heating, and fireplaces. No suspect thermat system insulation was observed during this inspection. The gardge ceiling had a spray-on fire proofing that was mostty removed prior to this inspection. CONCLUSIONS AND RECpM1yIENDATIONS: Presumed Asbestos containing materials, present in the buildings, aze as follows: 1- Spray-on ceiling texhuae . 2. Sheet vinyl flooring 3. Faterior siding board 4 , A & D Asbestos Testing and Conulting . John R. Peterman AsbestosTesting, Project Design, and Consulting LaboIatory Anatysis of die bulk sannples collected during this inspection indicate that Asbestos was detected in all of the composite sheetrock samples. However, the Asbestos content is less than the Regulatory Limit (Greater than 1% Asbestos). The.Asbestos content of the samples was verified by the Required Point Count Analysis. The samples collected were taken from the original azeas of the buildings. If conditions are encountered that aze not the original construction, additional testingr documentation may be required. If the renovation work will unpact on the three presumed Asbestos containing materiais listed, the P.A.C.M. must be handled as per Colo.
