General Information: This application is for all changes to approved plans prior to Certificate of Occupancy. An ap-
plication for Design Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development
Department, Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a building permit is issued and
construction commences.

Attached are pdf files of plans showing the above referenced walls we discussed earlier today. One is a
24x36 sheet of the entire plan and the other is an 8.5X11 5 size of the area in question. It should be
noted that the new wall shown perpendicular to the existing concrete wall where the meters are mounted
has already been approved by the Town Of Vail. I have also included a digital image of west side of the
existing concrete wall and the meters mounted on it It should be noted that the new screen walls would
only extend up to just below the legs of the existing precast concrete floor structure above.

Re: Snow Fox Condominiums Revisions to Approved Design Review Board Plans

To Design Review Board:
Attached please find our clients submittal for the above referenced project. In response to the desires of unit
owners the Association would like to request the following changes to approved plans. The recessed deck
enclosing walls on the south side of the building would be reduced in width and shifted to one side of the space
or the other depending on the orientation of the deck. The remaining space would be in-filled with stuccoed
wall construction flush with the face of the existing stucco. This wculd allow the owners more flexibility with
how they utilize the new living space created by enclosing the decks. On the south side of the building the new
egress windows to be added in the bedrooms would be changed from a (2) awning with (1) casement window
unit to a (2) casement unit centered above or below the existing (3) awning window units to remain. The
owners feel that this would enhance the appearance of the building. On the east or west sides of the enclosed
decks, the approved (2) casement window unit to be added would be replaced with (1) large awning window of
approximately the same size. This change is intended to increase the glass area without changing the window
unit size. The final change involves the addition of stone veneered cmu block walls to screen existing gas
meters at the garage level. As you review the garage plan you will see that the new walls are not visible from
the street. It should be noted that the locations for these walls was reviewed and approved by Xcel Energy (See
attached copy of e-mail).
It should be understood that Architectural Services has taken over this project from the previous Architect of
Record Larry Benway, who has authorized us to use his plans to complete the project. He has sent us
electronic files of the all his drawings but has not yet sent to us any other documents including his copy of the
original DRB submittal drawings. The attached set of drawings included as previously approved DRB drawings
were given to us by a representative of the Association who believes they are a copy of the DRB approved
plans. I have proceeded based on the belief that this is an accurate assumption on his part.
Due to the minimal changes to the approved plans, we are hopeful that the Staff will be able to approve the
modifications we are proposing.
