General Information: This application is required for all proposals involving minor dhan a��l e im-
provements, such as roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retainiRg � ppli nail
Town Code sections can be found at www.vailgov.com under Vail Information — Town Code Online. All projects re-
quiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. An application for Design
Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department, as
outlined in the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by the Town Council and /or the Plan-
ning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a
building permit is issued and construction commences.

Julie is out, but I forwarded your email to our new caretakers, Kim and Mike Drury. Mike has been in construction a good
part of his career so you can rely on him for a good bit of supervision.
As you stated, we do not want to pay for any shoveling. We are no longer in Vail so you can start at any time that the
weather permits.
The Spraddle Creek Homeowners approved the roof design at their meeting in December. The town may ask you that.

Hi Bill and Julie,
Kevin shared with me that we are going to apply for DRB approval and permit to start the re -roof project on your Spraddle
Creek home. I'm putting together the DRB package today and will be presenting your selections of the DaVinci Slate
installed in a straight lay pattern and in the Castle Grey Blend. I've attached images of the sample boards for your
records.
Once we get approval from the town and are issued a building permit we will develop a schedule and order the
material. Once we have taken off the existing wood shakes, we will review the existing roof sheathing and identify a cost
for replacement and repair of any damaged sheathing. I'll make sure we have pricing and your approval prior to
proceeding with and resheathing work. The heat tape repair will be treated in the same manner, pricing and your
approval will be obtained before heat tape replacement occurs.
My understanding is that we can proceed with the work after April 17 2011. Assuming snow fall lessons and roof snow
melts this start date may be later unless Plath agrees to shovel the roof at no extra charge to get started. Beck's
supervision will be minimized with the assumption that Plath Roofing can self supervise majority of the time. Beck and
Plath will meet prior to starting the project to introduce ourselves to the new caretakers so they understand our schedule.
If you have any concerns about this outline of the scope of work please reply and let us know. Also if you have any
special requests that we need to know about please share them.
