Mr. Suthers,
Environrr�ental Abatement Services of Denver, Inc. (EAS) has been contracted to perfarm
the asbestos abatement in the above referenced condominium. I have attached a capy of
permit applications for Town of Vail and the state of Colorado, as well as a copy of EAS's
General Abatement Certificate and updated insurance certificate. This wark is intended to
start on August 18, 2008 this units should be completed by August 22, 2008.
The air handing system will be sealed with 6-mil polyethylene and Bron tape from inside the
unit and will not be affected during the abatement operations. The fir�e suppression system
vvili remain active during the abatement operations. The alarm system will deactivate at the
start of the project by the building owner the system should be reactivate after completion of
the remodel. The building contact person is Tom Schlander phone number is 9?0�476-2471
the site representative will be Bo Posey Cell phone number is 719-510-8760.
Please th� attached drawing a of typical unit at the above referenced site I have placed the
location of the negative air machines, handheld fire extinguishers, decontamination and
waste load out. I have alsa included a layout of the buiiding in relation to work and
egresses. EAS dose not expect to change any of the buildings egresses considering that
there are stairwells on either side of the buiiding.

GENERAL INF�RMATI�?N
Differential pressure air filtration systems are one of the primary means of confining and minimizing airborne asbestos fibers. A
negative pressure condition exists when the static pressure inside the enclosed work area is lower than that of the environment
outside this ar�a, The differentlal is creafed and maintained by moving air from the work area through an air filtration unit 40
the environment outside this area.
The correct use of the HEPA-AIRE H2O00XE d�ring asbestos abatement helps prevent the large-scale release af fibers to the
environment outside the work area in case the polyethylene containmen4 barrier is torn or punctured. In addition, it lowers the
concen4ration of airborne fibers inside the work area,

The Environmental Protectlon Agency (EPA) recommends on� air change �very tiff�en minuPes (4 times per hour) in the
containment area. To determine total alr flow requirements:
1 . Caiculate the volume of the work area in cubfc feet by multiplying the floor area (length X width) by the ceiiing height,
2, Div(de the volume of the work area by 15 minutes.

H2O00XE should b� conn�cted fo a three�prong grounded outief equipped with a Ground F�ui4 Circui4 Infereupt (GFCI)
device.
2, All electrical equipmenf used on the job must be in good condifion and properly grounded, Check outlets, wiring,
extension cords and the ground pins on plugs,
3, Do not string electrical wiring and cords across floors, They should be elevated to keep th�m away from water and
accidental damage. Wiring and cords shouid not be elevated with staples, nails or wire �— tape should be used instead.
4, Extension cords used for the HEPA-AIRE H2O00XE must be the heavy dufy No. 10-3 industrial grade 3-wire 9ype, The cords
must be in good condition and in continuous lengths (no splicing). They should not exceed 100 ft. in lengfh.

The HEPA-AIRE H2O00XE should be positioned at a maximum distance from the worker access opening or other make-up air
sources. It must not be exhausted to uncontaminated or occupied areas of the building. The end of the exhaust manifold or
fiexible exhaust duct should be placed through an opening in the plastic containment barrier or wall coverings; suitable duct
tape shouid be used to seal off any openings.

U5E OF THE HEPA-AIRE H2O00XE
Once the work area preparatian stage of the project Is complete the unit should be started (see "To Start Unit°) before any
asbestos abatement begins. Smoke tubes can be used to visually check the air flow direction in the work area.
The static pressure differential between the work area and the environmenf ou4side fihe containment area can be monitored
with a suitabie pressure dffferenfial monitorin� system,

The HEPA-AIRE H2O00XE is equipped with an aufomatic re-sfart system. If there is a temporary loss of electrical power, the unif
will automatically re-start as soon as power is restored to the outlet.

Personnel responsible for changing filters must wear NIOSH approved respirators along with the other required protective
equipmenf, As the filters become loaded the air flow capacity of the H2O00XE decreases, If the amber filter loading indicator
turns °ON ", the` " Primary" filter (if one is being used) should be replaced as follows:
1 . With the unit operating, fold in the sides of the aPrimary fi�ter and dispose of it as asbestos waste, Put a
new filter in place.
If the Fifter Loading indicator rema(ns "QN', the Ring panel filter should be replaced as follows:
2, With the unit operating, remove the °Peimary filter as described in ( 1 ) and change the Ring pan�l filter, The loaded Ring
panel ffiter should be disposed of as asbestos waste.
If the Filter Loading Indicator still remalns °ON°, the HEPA fiiter should be replaced as follows;
3, Turn the unit °OFF° and DISCONNECT TME POWER CORD FROM THE POWER SUPPLY. Remove the ' Primary and Ring panel
filters, R�move the four retention boits and corner mounfing brackets and slide the HEPA fifter out of the cabinet, Dispose
of the HEPA filter as asbestos waste.
Inspect the gasket on the new HEPA filter housing as well as the HEPA-AIRE H2O00XE knife edge filter mounting surtace; make
sure there are NO cracks, gaps, and/or defects. Cracks, gaps, and defects could permit leakage of contaminated air
through the unit, WORN C�R D�FECTIVE G�,SKETS MUST �E REPLACE�. Instail a new Abatement Technologies HEPA filter with
identicai housing dimensions as the one being replaced. THE GASKET END OF THE HEPA IS PIACE� IP1TC� THE UNIT FIRST. When
installing the HEPA filter, the mountfng brackets and retention boits must be fastened securely to prevent air leaks but not
overtightened. Insfall the ring panel fflter and close the intake grill door. Whenever the HEPA filter is repiaced, fhe ° Primary
and Ring panel fllters should also be replaced,
The H2O00X� has a built-in warning system which visibly (amber filter loading indicator light "ON") signals when there is too high
of a pressure drop across the filters (filter{s) are loaded) or air intake is blocked.
