Scope of Work: Installation of new 4" drain/sanitary sewer from existing well house drains @ 2 ,

locations. New 4" drain to tie into sewer main across Vail Valley Drive from well House. See attached
drawings. Modification of piping leaving the well house to increase waterline to 24"with additional
length to provide chlorine contact time. Installation of new FRP Meter Vault w/new conduit
supplying power from well house to flow meter. Exhaust fan switch inside the metering vault was
deleted from the drawings. Also,see attached Addendum No.2, page 3(attached)where exhaust fan
switch was deleted from the project. Replacement of MOSCAD modules in RTU for update of SCADA
transmission. Modifications/additions to existing lighting panel to provide service to fluoride feed
and monitoring equipment and corrosion inhibitor feed equipment.

3.3 HANDHOLES
A. Prefabricated Composite Material Handholes:
1. For use in areas subjected to occasional non-deliberate vehicular
traffic.
2. 1'lace handhole on a foundation of compacted 1/4 to 1/2 IN
crushed rock or gravel a minimum of 8 IN thick and 6 II�T larger
than handholes footprint on all sides.
3. Provide concrete encasement ring around handhote per
manufacturers installation instructions (minimum of 10 IN wide x
12 IN deep).
4. Install so that the surrounding grade is 1 IN lower than the top of
the handhole.
5. Size: As required for the number and size of conduits.
6. Provide cable rails and pulling eyes as needed.
B. Handhole Locations:
1. As required for pulling distances.
2. As required to keep pulling tensions under allowable cable
tensions.
3. As required for number of bends in ductbank routing.
4. Shall not be installed in a swale or ditch.
5. Determine the exact locations after careful consideration has been
given to the location of other utilities, grading, and paving.
6. Lc�cations are to be approved by the Engineer prior to excavation
and placement or construction of manholes and handholes.
