Peterlman Asbestos Testing, Project Design, and Consulting MMODUCTION: On February 21st, 2007 an inspection/survey was condwUd and 2,0 bulk samples were collected from the: The Landmark Commercial Building 610 W. LionsHead Circle Vail, CO. The purpose of the inspection/survey was to locate and sample suspected Asbestos containing materials that are present in the areas played for renovation. The, inspection was made, and the samples were collected by Johns R. Peterman, an A.H.E.R.A. and State of Colorado Certified Asbestos Inspector. Great care was taken during the inspection and sampling to be as accurate as possible. It should be noted that minimal damage was done to the existing building structures during the inspection so there is no documentation for unseen conditions or stored items. All samples were analyzed by DCM Science Lab in Wheatxidge, CO. This laboratory is deemed "Proficient" in the E.P.A.Quality Assurance (QA) program for the determination of asbestos in bulk materials, and is accredited by the American Hygiene Association (AHA). SAMPLING PROTOCOL: A random sampling scheme was used to sample tha suspect ,materials that were discovered. BUILDING DESCRTMON: The Commercial area of the Landmark Building is planned for selective renovation. The anterior walls are covered with wood siding, sheetrock with troweled texture, sheetrack,, regulation board, wood =k&, , and sbeetrock with a light texture. The ceiUng is twin -tee concrete construction with a spray -on texture in the open areas, twin -tee with no texture, suspended file ceilings, wood, and shmtrock. NOTE: Most areas with suspended the ceitirlg do not have spray -an texture above the ceiling. The rear the ceiling in Vail Sports has spray -on texture above the ceiling. The floors are covered in carpet, ceramic tiles, wood, and bare concrete_ The beating is provided by baseboard heating. NOTE: The Grind Rite Ski Shop is not included in this report. CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS: Laboratory analysis of the bulk samples indicate that Asbestos was detected in all of the spray -on ceiling texture samples. Two out of three samples contain Asbestos that is in excess of the Regulatory Lltnit (C=ater than I% Asbestos). The Asbestos content of the positive samples was not 'verified by Faint Count Analysis for the purpose of the renovation work. All spray -on ceiling texture should be considered Asbestos containing and handled as per Colo.
